Bells in Crimson Desert are interacted with to reveal areas and points of interest within locations. There is a total of 8 bells that can be rang to reveal the areas where the sound of the bell can be heard. Shortly after, a Shai Resident hiding within the bell will reveal itself to the player, and the related quest will be completed. Each of the quest is related to the Toll of Pywel mission, which is a Pororin Forest Guardian Faction Quest. Ringing the bell does not completely reveal the surrounding area, but it will only reveal up to a certain reach, including various points of interest and Knowledge entries.
Bell Guide in Crimson Desert
There are 8 Bells in Pywel that the player can ring to reveal an area in the World Map. These are located in large regions like Hernand, Pailune, Varnia, Crimson Desert, Delesyia, and Demeniss. When you arrive at a new area, the first thing that you should do is to get to the top of these towers to reveal the Shai Resident that will sweep away the mists shrouding the World Map, revealing important knowledge entries and other points of interest nearby. This allows you to save time exploring, and you can plan your route as you explore Pywel. Each bell also has a related quest that will be started and completed as soon as you ring the bell. Some bells can be interacted with easily, but there are also other bells that will require you to meet specific conditions.
Unlocking the related quest will also require to you to find and ring the first bell. The first bell that you can find is in the northern area of Hernand. As soon as you arrive here, you'll notice the young boy Rulupee calling out to his pet companion. Once you get to the top of the tower, there you can interact with the bell to ring it, which will then start the quest Toll of Pywel, and complete the related mission Toll of Hernand. The rest of the quests are also similar, all you need to do is to ring the bell, and the quest will be completed.

All Bell Locations in Crimson Desert
Eastern area of City of Hernand
- The bell is located atop the tower located in the eastern area of the city. This is located near the eastern edge of the city, with a small house attached to it. You can climb the tower by climbing the nearby roof, then scale the wall of the tower.
Courtyard of Scholastone
- The bell is located at the courtyard at the top of Scholastone, where you can see lush greenery surrounding the institute. The tower has a different appearance than that of the one in the City of Hernand, and it's building is much smaller, similar to a gazebo instead of a tower.
Calphade
Related Quest: Toll of Calphade
Church of Calphade
- The bell is located at the top of the church in Calphade. There are no stairs to the top, but you can use Force Palm to propel yourself upwards. This bell can only be rung before or after completing chapter 6. Attempting to do so will not complete the related quest due to the dispute with the Shai territory.
Demeniss

Cathedral of Demeniss
- The bell is located at the capital of Demeniss, the two towers connected by a bridge. The bell is located at the top of the tallest tower, which you can climb by scaling the wall. There are rest stops that you can take as you scale. Make sure to rest and recover your stamina so you can get to the top. As you reach the top, there's a lever that you have to pull by riding down on the flag. This will reveal the hidden bell at the top. Once the bell is out, you can climb to the top of the tower to ring it.
Pailune

City of Pailune
- The bell in Pailune is located at the capital of the city. There's a red tower near the river at the center of the city that you can climb using the stairs at the base.
Crimson Desert
Related Quest: Toll of Tommaso
Tommaso Plaza
- The clocktower is located at the capital of the sand city, in Tommaso Plaza. The building is the tallest in the area, and you'll find cloths that extend from surrounding buildings. Behind the clocktower, you can climb the rocky mountain and then glide towards the tower to reach the bell.
Crimson Desert

Whitesand Retreat
- The second bell in Crimson Desert is located at the farthest city called Varnia. The bell is located near the exterior walls where you can find the tallest tower towards the northeast. When you get to the top of the tower, you need to turn the rod counter clockwise to reveal the bell. After that, you can ring the bell to complete the quest.
Delesyia
Related Quest: Toll of Delesyia
City of Delesyia
- The bell in Delesyia can be found at the top of the clocktower in the capital of the city. The tower is easy to spot since there are wheels that are decorated on one side of the tower. Use Force Palm to propel yourself upwards, then enter through the window gaps to get inside.
