Status Effects in Code Vein 2 are buffs or debuffs that can be applied to characters during combat or while exploring. These Status Effects can affect players, Companions, Enemies, and Bosses, but with different scales due to resistances. Code Vein 2 Status Effects

What are Status Effects in Code Vein 2?

Just like in the previous game, Status Effects are statuses that can weaken or limit characters during battle. These effects can come from enemy attacks, player abilities, or special attacks and movesets from Bosses. For example, Venom and Toxic Venom drain health over time, making it dangerous if left untreated. Other status effects also have a build-up mechanic, wherein the player will only become afflicted with the ailment when the threshold is passed.

What are Resistances in Code Vein 2?

Resistances determine if the character has enough Stats to prevent certain ailments. Resistances also indicate how well your character can withstand harmful status effects or types of damage, and are important in helping your character survive various conditions faced during Combat. For instance, Disease Resistance helps reduce the impact of health-draining poison, while Fire, Ice, Blood, and Lightning Resistance help defend against heat, cold, bleed, or electric attacks.

Code Vein 2 Status Ailments

Toxic Venom

An effect that slowly drains health over time. When it affects an ally, it can be quite a pest since it steadily lowers their health. Against normal enemies, it's even more effective, causing them to lose health quickly, while on bosses, it works more slowly but still chips away at their health during the fight.

Inhibit

This stops characters from using special abilities that require ichor. This can make battles harder for players or prevent enemies and bosses from using some of their attacks.

Leak

This gradually drains ichor from the affected person, reducing how often they can use their special abilities and leaving them at a disadvantage in combat.

Stun

This leaves whoever is affected unable to move or act for a brief moment. For both allies and regular enemies, this effect can be canceled if they get hit again, but bosses stay stunned for a shorter time and can't break free just by being struck.

Slow

This causes whoever it hits to move, attack, and dodge more slowly. It lasts longer on allies but is still useful for controlling enemies and bosses, making them easier to deal with.

Shows how effectively your character can guard against damage that steadily drains health.

Inhibit Resistance

Measures how well your character can avoid being blocked from using special abilities that rely on ichor.

Leak Resistance

Indicates your character's ability to withstand attacks that slowly drain ichor over time.

Crush Damage Reduction Percent

Reveals how much your character can lessen the impact of heavy, blunt force attacks.

Blood Resistance

Reflects your character's strength in defending against blood-based damage.

Ice Resistance

Describes how well your character can handle cold or freezing attacks.

Stun Resistance

Determines your character's chance of resisting effects that leave them unable to act for a moment.

Slow Resistance

Shows how effectively your character can avoid being slowed down in movement, attacks, or dodges.

Slash Damage Reduction Percent

Measures your character's ability to reduce harm from slicing or cutting attacks.

Pierce Damage Reduction Percent

Indicates how well your character can protect themselves from thrusting or stabbing damage.
