What is Luna Rapacis in Code Vein 2?

 Due to the sudden appearance of the Luna Rapacis, Revenants have transformed into mindless monsters called Horrors. Due to that description, we can presume that some revenants will lose all sense of identity and become a Horror threat to both humans and other Revenants. The Effect is primarily due to the Effects of the Resurgence on Revenants. Which in turn makes Revenants become an even danger to humanity beyond the usual problems the two species are already experiencing like friction of existence over the very different needs and problems they face. Due to the already increased strength and capabilities have being tired to the Madness and Mutations that the Luna Rapacis creates, this in turn gives an increased tension between the relationship humanity and the Revenant Houses have.

What is the Magmell Institute in Code Vein 2?

 In the current era of the Resurgence, the MagMell Institute has shed its identity as a house of academic discovery to become a jagged, fortified bastion overseen by Valentin’s mother, Lavinia Voda.The halls that once hummed with the quiet observation of ancient Formae, where the Matriarch coordinates the defense against the encroaching horrors of the Luna Rapacis. 

Physically, the MagMell Institute is anchored to a jagged, fog-shrouded island off the eastern coast of the Sunken City, accessible only by a single, heavily guarded causeway. The structure itself is a stark juxtaposition of eras: the base consists of ancient, monolithic stonework excavated from the original Forma ruins, while the upper levels are a patchwork of reinforced steel and scavenged technology bolted onto the remains of Valentin’s original facility. Inside, the transition from the sterile and utilitarian Defense centric Buildings into the Grand underground building which is both a grand cathedral like Hub filled with Shops but also store rooms and rest rooms.

What is The Resurgence in Code Vein 2?

The Resurgence is a phenomenon affecting the world of Code Vein 2. It causes distortions in the environment, causing deformations in various parts of the game world. The Resurgence is one of the key features of the game that remains a mystery until release. It's one of the events that the Protagonist and Lou have to stop.

In the past, the Hero Idris Voda succeeded  in sealing away the resurgence with help of the Heroes from other Revenant Houses. With the sacrifice of their lives, they managed to restrain the damage and danger of the resurgence at the cost of their lives.  Valentin Voda and Lavinia Voda are descendants of the great hero. As the seal by the Great Hero Idris was supposed to be temporary, their descendants holds the duty of overseeing the danger of the Resurgence.

Who is the Protagonist in Code Vein 2?

You play as a Revenant Hunter capable of fighting these horrors, who unfortunately dies during one of their missions. However, A Revenant named Lou intervenes and saves them by sharing her heart. This sets a bond between the two and will have them traveling into the past to try and save the world. The protagonist's identity is fully customizable, allowing players to shape their own character while experiencing this new chapter in the series.

Who is Lou in Code Vein 2?

A mysterious girl with the power to travel into the past. She saves the Revenant Hunter by sharing her own heart to bring him back to life. Bound by fate, she joins him on a mission to change the past and prevent the world's destruction. 

Spoiler past this Point

In Code Vein 2, Lou is the player's main companion and the first you would meet. Her journey begins with her act of life-giving sacrifice when she revives the protagonist by sharing her own heart. This creates a biological and spiritual bond that links your survival to hers. As a Revenant who has spent an eternity in isolation, Lou uses her unique ability to follow Pathos—the emotional residue left by others—to leap through history. Her goal is to using her abilities to stop the Resurgence and the Luna Rapacis before they can trigger the world's collapse in the year 2277.

The mystery of Lou's power lies in her connection to Idris, the legendary founder of the Superbia Bloodline. Because the natural ability to manipulate time was lost to Idris's direct descendants, the Voda House created Lou as a tool in their quest to save the world from the apocalyptic Resurgence. She was engineered through mass sacrifice to replicate Idris’s chronokinetic abilities. Her progression as a character is marked by her claiming Idris’s Conceit, a massive battle axe that signifies her transition from a tool of the Voda House to a true wielder of her own destiny.

While the Voda House intended for her to follow in Idris’s footsteps and vanish while sealing the Resurgence, the "Miraculous Bonds" ending allows her to escape this fate. By forging deep connections with allies in the past and navigating the temporal limbo of the Luna Fraterna, the protagonist is able to pull Lou from the abyss. This narrative resolution shifts her identity from a lonely, manufactured vessel into a free individual, finally restoring her heart and ending the cycle of self-annihilation that had defined the Superbia legacy for centuries.

Who is Josee Anjou in Code Vein 2?

In 2179, Josee Anjou oversees and controls the location that will later be known as the Sunken City. Josee and Lise are siblings who are inheritors of the Gula Bloodline. Because of this bloodline, they both inherit the power of the Gula Eye which in turn empowered them but also made them prone to frenzy as part the bloodlines Flaw. Lise will become distant to her Sister due to an event in their past. Which she will focus her time on Science and research while Josee rises as the leader of the City.

Josee while hunting a particulary dangerous Metagen in the city will be gripped by Frenzy caused by her Bloodline's Flaw. Lise in attempt to assist with the hunt using a device she invented will charge toward's Josee side and sacrifice herself to save Josee. The Metagen will detonate and unleash the devastation which will in turn make the Sunken City the devastated urban area it is.

The protagonist and lou will arrive in the past after Metagen detonation in the devastated sunken city. There they will assist Josee in battling both the Hostile forces of Alessandro Gobbo and the monsters within the city. Josee will find Lise's device and will be assisted by the protagonist to defeat the Metagen remnant.

In the original timeline, a second resurgent mass fatality event. She will try her best to save the people of the city however due to another frenzy caused by the flaw will cause a mass fatality event that will save lives but still cause massive fatality to a significant portion of them.

By Redeeming Holly, changing her past and fate will in turn affect Josee's past. Due to the Sanitorium still functioning in this new timeline. Lise's life will be saved during the first explosion of the Metagen and seek to create a device to prevent Josee's Frenzies. She will leave a harpin in the Sanitarium which can be used as Pathos by Lou and the Protagonist to attempt to Redeem Josee.

After briefly entering the past the protagonist and Lou will arrive using lise's Pathos, they will be jumping in the middle of the events of the 2nd Explosion which was undocumented in the present but will be revealed to have been caused by Alessandro Gobbo and his hunter forces. The protagonist and Lou will arrive while Gobbo's hunters attack the city and attempting to cause the 2nd Explosion in the Sunken City.

Unable to change the past and simply watching the event, the protagonist and Lou will seek Lise's Device which they will find beneath the tower of regeneration.

Back in the past during 2nd Explosion, The protagonist and Lou will use Lise's device to prevent the 2nd Explosion and calming Josee. Preventing her from causing massive deaths and fatalities. This entrance into the past will however lead for Gobbo to gain Lise's device which in turn caused temporal problems for the Protagonist and Lou.

With Josee's help, Lou and the protagonist will be able to defeat the hunters and create a new timeline where the Sunken City can be a sanctuary for revenants.

Who is Holly in Code Vein 2?

Holly Asturias of the Luxuria Bloodline, those of said Revenant bloodline have the ability to become great healers yet at the same time has a Curse that they inherit as well. Holly would work to become a great healer like many of their bloodline. Holly will have a strained relationship with her father, something that will lead to large implications and effects later on. This is due to the events surrounding Monica Asturias, her mother.

Monica caught a terminal disease that caused her to slowly weaken. When House Voda called for sacrifices to maintain the seal on the Resurgence, Holly expecting her father Camilo to take the role as is customary in the Luxoria bloodline. a dying Monica in turn takes his place. Creating the rift that Camilo and Holly will have.

In the Original Timeline, Camilo will contract the same curse his bloodline has and even with a deeply strained relationship, Holly will agree to care for her father. Alessandro Gobbo, offers an experimental cure to Holly for their Curse. In desperation to cure her father and other revenant patients accepts. Rather than a cure Camilo, this will in turn make Camilo frenzy and spread in the their Sanitorium. Holly will be forced to end her father and her patients. Which in turn lead her to be prosecuted by Voda House for the events that happened. When the new call from House Voda came to reseal the Resurgence, Holly will take the chance and put herself as sacrifice to earn her redemption.

When Sealed in the Present, the Undead effect on the Forest and its Spectres will manifest due to her tragic Story and feelings.

When the Protagonist is able to jump back towards Holly's past with the Help of Lycoris. With the intervention of Lou and the Protagonist. Holly will be able to learn that Lycoris is her mother's reflection and that Monica opted to sacrifice herself in Camilo's place as her disease was already fatal anyways. Encouraged by this new information and the assistance of both the Protagonist and Monica's forma. Holly will be able to cure both Camilo and the protagonist's corruption. Preventing the tragedy that happened to her, the Sanitarium and the Undead forest in the present timeline.

Who is Lyle in Code Vein 2?

In 2178, in the region of the Corroded Scar. Craig creates the Dawn Chorus, a military force created to reclaim the Corroded Scar from all the Horrors and other Hostile forces. Craig's Mother, Imogen used to rule the Corroded Scar with the rest of their Revenant House. They however were ordered to leave for reasons unknown to them. Imogen discovered a massive monster that inhabits the scar and chose to exile her people so she may weaken or prevent it from becoming a threat. This however led to the Corroded Scar being Populated by various Hostile forces all the the while the monster in it creates new monsters.

Lyle was a former Bloodbag, a source of food for revenants that they make humans take the role which was later encountered by Craig and the Dawn Chorus. Craig rescued Lyle from this Grim Fate. They had an extremely close relationship, up until Lyle's death. Craig grief stricken, opted to revive Lyle and turn them into a Revenant. Something extremely illegal but the Dawn Chorus chose to protect in secrecy.

At the same time, due to the desperation of the extremely arduous task of reclaiming the Corroded Scar and the Dawn Chorus being pretty much a ragtag group of revenants with no base to pull support from. Craig reluctantly chose to allow the Dawn Chorus to serve Alessandro Gobbo so they may receive supplies in exchange for being his armed force.

When the Protagonist arrive in the past, they would be meeting the Dawn Chorus as they are about the embark on the reconquest of the Corroded Scar. The Protagonist will assist them in this effort against the many hostiles that populate the area.

In the original timeline, while lyle confronts the corrupted Imogen and defeats them. They would return to the surface seeing all the Chorus dead. Assassins sent by the Progenitor Council that was tipped off by Alessandro Gobbo was sent to punish Craig and the Dawn Chorus for creating Lyle. Lyle blaming themself for the end of the Chorus and Craig will sacrifice themselves to seal the Resurgence.

Once the Protagonist strengthened the Pathos needed to return back to the past. The protagonist and Lou can be transported again in the past but this time with the assistance of Craig and the Protagonist. Lyle will defeat Imogen without losing their arm. When they resurface, this time with the help of Imogen's acid the chorus will be able to fight off the Assassins and not perish.

In the Present, the Abyss Chorus will still be there and successfully conquer the Corroded Scar. Hailing Lyle as a Hero whom was instrumental in their Quest.
