Map Jammers in Code Vein 2
Map Jammers in Code Vein 2 are special enemies that interfere with the player's ability to reveal and navigate the map. These enemies are found in fixed areas throughout each location, and their presence alone prevents a section of the map from being uncovered, slowing down players from fully exploring the location. Once a Map Jammer is defeated, the surrounding area will immediately be revealed on the map, including hidden rooms that may contain loot. For a complete list of locations of all Map Jammers, players may refer to the All Map Jammer Locations page for detailed information.
Exploring the Past and Present
As players advance through the main storyline, they will be able to time travel to the past through Lou MagMell's ability. This allows players to revisit earlier periods of the world, allowing them to change the present. However, exploration in the past is restricted by the influence of the specific Bond to the timeline. Only regions that are under the Bond's influence can be explored, causing each location to differ depending on the timeline being visited. Players cannot fast travel between Mistles that are beyond the influence of a Bond, requiring players to navigate only specific areas to progress through the game.
Mistles in Code Vein 2
Mistles serve as the primary checkpoints in Code Vein 2, functioning as a hub for resting, preparing, and other functions used for progressing. Players can interact with a Mistle to restore their resources (HP/Ichor), upgrade their equipment, customize their loadout, or change their active companion. Mistles also act as fast travel points, allowing players to move between activated Mistles within the same era. Fast travel is limited by the Bond, which means that player cannot travel to Mistles outside of the influence of the Bond or exist in a different time period. Resting at a Mistle will revive previously defeated enemies, so players should be cautious whenever they leave the area.
Exploration in Code Vein 2
In Code Vein 2, players navigate each area primarily by relying on the compass and mini-map, which provide guidance on the direction and layout of the area. However, navigation can become challenging in certain locations due to winding paths, low visibility, or moments when these tools that serve as a guide are unavailable. For these situations, players can rely on the Travel Path feature, which allows them to visually track the routes they have previously taken. The Travel Path appears as a trail of light on the ground, with the most recent path showing up as an orange light, which will eventually fade into a blue one.
Jadwiga's Minions in Code Vein 2
Players may encounter merchants in various locations throughout the game, collectively referred to as Jadwiga's Minions. These NPCs function as an extension of Jadwiga's workshop in MagMell, providing players with access to essential services while exploring dangerous areas. In addition to selling wares, Jadwiga's Minions are capable of performing the services at the main workshop, such as upgrading and transforming equipment, as well as extracting boosters from items. As these merchants can appear outside safe hubs, players should utilize these merchants if they are having difficulties progressing through the game.
