What are Jails in Code Vein 2?
Jails are special Revenant hunter equipment placed on your character's back. By storing revenant hearts on their backs, hunters are able to improve coordination with the revenants they fight alongside. You can equip different Jails to change the stats increased and your drain actions. Each Jail has specific traits that can be useful in different scenarios or situations. Make sure to equip the right Jail that will benefit you during your battles. You are provided with one Jail during the first phase of the game. The Jail that will be given to you is the Ogre Jail, which is a gigantic claw that resembles the arm of an ogre. You can use the Ogre Jail during a Special Drain Attack when your enemies are in a staggered state.

Where to Acquire Jails in Code Vein 2?
There are several ways to acquire Jails in Code Vein 2, some Jails can be found in the Confluence, and some are found in chests inside dungeons; however, Jails are not purchasable from merchants like Jadwiga or her minions.

How to use Jails in Code Vein 2?
Equipping Jails
You start by opening your character's menu and hovering over Jails. From there, you will see all of your current available Jails. You will also see the provided additional stats of the Jails once you click on them. During the first phase of the game, you are provided with the Ogre Jail as your default Jail. Choosing the right Jail will give you an advantage during your fight against enemies and bosses.

Special Drain Attacks
Each of your Jails has its own unique abilities and a drain attack. These drain attacks are used to steal Ichor from your enemies, which makes them very helpful when it comes to critical moments. You will see the lock-on marker changes on your enemy's chest, which is your indicator that you can use your special drain attacks using your Jails.

How Jails work in Code Vein 2?
Jails are one of the best pieces of equipment you will acquire during your exploration of the Past and Present world of Code Vein 2. These Jails are the artifact that is attached to your character's back. The main purpose of this Jail equipment is to perform special drain attacks as well as provide powerful attacks against your enemies. Jails are also used in collecting Ichor, which fuels your other powerful skills.

A gigantic claw reminiscent of an ogre's arm.
Dash forward a short distance and drive the claw into the target.

Bat
Launches a fang-tipped arrow with bat wings.
A swarm of bats descends and continuously drains blood from the enemy struck by the arrow.

Hound
Crush foes with a twin-headed wolf.
Unleashes a two-hit combo with left and right jaws. While attacking, the user has increased disruption resistance to enemy strikes.

Ivy
Thorns that generate blades of steel.
Erupts countless blades from the ground, piercing a wide area.
Hold to place a marker on the ground.

Reaper
A puppet reaper bearing a massive scythe.
Unleash a spinning slash with the scythe. The initial spin can deflect enemy attacks. If an attack cannot be deflected, it is blocked instead.

Stinger
A massive scorpion tail that skewers prey.
Thrust forward in a straight line over a long distance with the tail. Hold to send enemies flying.
