What is Code Vein 2?
Code Vein 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to Bandai Namco’s 2019 post-apocalyptic action RPG, officially revealed on June 6, 2025, during the Summer Game Fest. The game returns to a haunting, dystopian world where Revenants once preserved a fragile balance in the face of collapse. However, a new threat known as the Luna Rapacis has begun corrupting Revenants, causing them to lose their sanity and transform into terrifying creatures called Horrors. In Code Vein 2, players take on the role of a Revenant Hunter, and after dying from a mission, is revived by a mysterious girl named Lou. With her help and her ability to travel through time, the player is sent 100 years into the past. There, they must navigate a world teetering on the edge of ruin. Choices and events in this past timeline will have direct consequences on the future.
Combat in Code Vein 2 builds upon the first game’s mechanics, with reports of more fluid pacing, expanded weapon variety, and deeper character customization. Familiar systems such as the Partner mechanic, Drain Attacks, and Blood Codes return.

Vehicles in Code Vein 2
Vehicles are referred to as the Motorcycle Forma, which are used by the main character to efficiently travel from one location to another. Motorcycle Forma vehicle is a type of spell that can be summoned, as part of the Revenant's (player character) abilities, and can be used when exploring outside of dungeons. It can also be shared with companions, allowing the player character to travel with their buddy.
How is Combat in Code Vein 2?
Code Vein 2 builds upon the foundation of its predecessor while refining and expanding its core combat loop. One of the returning key mechanics is Ichor, a vital resource that fuels your abilities in battle. For those unfamiliar with the first game, Ichor functions similarly to a mana system, and it's replenished by landing attacks.

Ichor is essential for Revenants to use their special abilities known as Gifts, which consist of magical abilities, unique skills, buffs, weapon skills, and many more. Combat in Code Vein 2 will likely revolve around this.

Players will explore the crumbling remains of a once-thriving metropolis, now submerged and buried beneath layers of ruin. These forgotten landscapes are inhabited by transformed revenants who once lived there.
