Bosses in Code Vein 2 are unique, powerful Enemies that the player must face to complete an area. These Bosses feature a unique look, a large health bar, and several unique moves. Boss Weaknesses in Code Vein 2
Figuring out what each boss is weak to can be confusing at first, but you can usually tell based on the damage type they use. Bosses that use ice attacks are usually weak to fire. Bosses that use electric attacks are often weak to ice. Fire based enemies are usually weak to either electricity or ice. If a boss is not weak to the main elemental types, they are usually weak to blood damage instead. Bosses that deal blood damage themselves are sometimes weak to every element, or they can end up resisting almost everything.

Each Boss has specific elements they normally rely on during Combat, along with elemental resistances against your attacks. Because of this, equipping the right equipment before a boss fight is important if you want to deal with bosses more effectively. For example, One-Armed Hero Lyle specializes in using electricity-based attacks, while Hero Holly is resistant to ice attacks. Knowing what elements a boss uses and resists can help you choose better equipment before the fight starts. Equipping the right Weapons, Blood Codes (Classes), and Weapon Formae allows you to better counter specific bosses and makes fights easier to handle overall.
Use Your Companions against Bosses in CV2
During boss fights, Companions can be a big help when dealing with Bosses. They can provide useful effects and enhancements through Link Traits and Partner Trait Bonuses, which improve your combat abilities during battle. These bonuses can help make fights more manageable, especially during longer encounters against stronger bosses. Assimilation lets you fuse with your companion, so that your strengths can merge. This enhances your stats significantly, but sacrifices the ability to distract the boss when you two are separate. Companions can also act as distractions during fights, which means bosses will not always focus entirely on you. This gives you more chances to safely attack the boss, reposition yourself, or recover without immediately taking damage. Having a companion with you can make boss fights feel less overwhelming and give you more openings during combat.
Do Bosses have Phases in Code Vein 2?
Yes, bosses in Code Vein 2 can have phases, but not all of them do. Some bosses stay the same for the entire fight and use the same attacks from start to finish. Other bosses change as the fight goes on. A good example is Josee the Blind Hero. Josee has two phases. In Phase 2, some attacks from Phase 1 stay the same but deal more damage. New attacks are also added during the second phase.
