At Definity, we believe strong communities are fundamental to a sustainable future. We are committed to advancing thriving, equitable, and climate‑ready communities by taking meaningful action today while investing in the solutions and knowledge needed for tomorrow. As climate impacts intensify, we believe a whole‑of‑society approach is essential, with the insurance sector playing a critical role. Our transparent reporting on sustainability was recognized when we received the Best ESG Reporting (Mid‑Cap) award from IR Impact in 2025. This recognition reflects the high standard of our sustainability program and ESG disclosures. We also advance sustainability through strategic partnerships that help Canadian clients and communities adapt and thrive. In partnership with MaRS Discovery District, we launched the Adaptech Accelerator, supporting startups developing innovative solutions for climate adaptation and resilience. We are also proud to be a founding partner of the Research Chair in Actuarial and Climate Sciences (ClimACT) at UQAM | Université du Québec à Montréal, bringing together climate science and actuarial expertise to enhance climate modelling and deepen understanding of evolving climate risks. As extreme weather events continue to increase in frequency and severity across Canada, these initiatives are integral to helping Canadians prepare for and respond to climate‑related risks. Other charitable organizations we continue to invest in that create measurable social impact include: 💚 ALUS, which engages farmers and ranchers in creating nature‑based solutions that build climate resilience and enhance biodiversity. Our funding supports the growth of the ALUS network and the creation of more acres of nature adjacent to productive farmland. 💚 Green Communities Canada, a national non‑profit supporting grassroots‑led climate action through leadership, connection, training, and funding. Our funding helped establish the Living Cities Canada Fund, enabling community green infrastructure projects to be developed and scaled nationwide. In 2025 alone, the Fund supported 37 projects—planting more than 12,000 plants over a combined site size of 33,000 m² of community space. This Earth Month, we’re continuing to reinforce our commitment to climate resilience and community impact. We’re proud to support the communities where we live and work through our network of broker partners, employees, and community relationships—leveraging the power of our business, partnerships, and investments to help protect what matters most and build a more resilient, sustainable future. Here are a few ways we are encouraging Team Definity to get involved this Earth Month. ⬇️

What happens on Saskatchewan farms shapes the resilience of entire rural communities. 🌾 In the latest issue of Rural Councillor, Nicole Baldwin shares how farmers in the Assiniboine Watershed are leading conservation and adopting regenerative agriculture practices that: • Improve water management • Reduce erosion • Strengthen landscapes that support rural infrastructure • Build resilience across working farmland From perennial buffers along rivers to cover crops in cropped fields, these farmer-led projects show how practical stewardship delivers benefits well beyond the farm. Thank you to the Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities for the opportunity to contribute to this important conversation. Quick stop in beautiful Peace River region - thank you to Katie Bartman and Northern Sunrise County Council for having me! ALUS NSC was established in 2016 and is home to 2024 Dave Reid award winner, François Allard. A drive by visit to the Allard project demonstrates that even at the tail end of a long winter season, #biodiversity thrives on ALUS project sites...including a real treat for us Southerners to see - the Boreal Chickadee!

Eight years. 9,300+ acres. 200+ farmers. 21 municipalities. One powerful example of what made‑in‑Alberta watershed resilience looks like. Between 2018 and 2025, the Government of Alberta’s Watershed Resiliency and Restoration Program (WRRP) enabled ALUS communities to deliver nature‑based projects across working landscapes—wetlands restored, riparian areas strengthened, grasslands managed for soil and water health, and natural water storage returned to agricultural lands. These projects aren’t theoretical. They’re practical, farmer‑led solutions that improve water quality and quantity, reduce flood and drought risk, enhance biodiversity, and keep agricultural operations productive. They show how working lands can function as essential natural infrastructure. And the momentum is real:  9,300+ acres of watershed improvements  200+ farmers and ranchers engaged through conservation agreements  21 municipalities implementing WRRP‑supported ALUS projects  $1 of public investment leveraging $1.75 from municipalities, corporate partners, NGOs, and philanthropy WRRP didn’t just fund projects—it catalyzed collaboration, strengthened data and monitoring capacity, and brought together more than 20 organizations working toward shared watershed outcomes. Today, Alberta communities are ready to do even more. Municipalities are waiting to join ALUS. Partnerships are in place. Farmers are prepared to scale proven, Alberta‑built natural infrastructure solutions. With continued investment, Alberta’s agricultural communities can expand this work and deliver even greater watershed resilience for the province. A strong foundation has been built. The opportunity ahead is even stronger.
