Owner & Events Manager | Make & Mend Market, 2012 – 2024: Newcastle’s independent handmade market. Showcasing the work of artists, designers, makers, crafters and all round creatives in Newcastle. Over the years we’ve supported so many local, handmade, ethical and eco-friendly creatives and think everyone else should too.
Comic Artist | Understanding what matters for people living with severe mental illness, 2024: Created a digital comic based on lived experiences to accompany written research which aided in informing government policy.
Production Manager | Some People Call us Checkies, 2022: Collaborated with the artist to facilitate accessible and attractive page layout, providing colour, lettering and additional artwork. Formatted artwork for print and liaised with printers to deliver 10,000 comics for Tyne & Wear Metro’s successful Metro Takeover programme.
Artworker & Assistant | Grainger Market Artist in Residence, 2018 –2019: Aided in design production, public engagement, print pre-production and creating images for social media, supporting the student placements.
Managing Editor | Applied Comics Etc. | Freedom City Comics, 2017: Produced a print run of 37,000 comics as part of Freedom City 2017, a city-wide programme of events to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Dr Martin Luther King Jr being awarded an honorary degree by Newcastle University. Developed product standards and provided feedback for artists, prepared artwork for print, grew a collaborative relationship with printers to guarantee quality for the print run of 37,000 comics. Designed and developed Freedom City Comics website within Newcastle University’s brand guidelines and standards.
Managing Editor | Applied Comics Etc. Gertrude Bell Comics, 2015: Web design and development. Designed a website using standards compliant HTML and CSS, with focus on accessibility. Worked with the Gertrude Bell Archive team to create interactive elements linking the comic with existing articles and photographs. Documented website usage with analytics data for project review.
Managing Editor | Applied Comics Etc. Newcastle Science Comic: Spineless, 2014: Asteroid Belter’s print run of 10,000 copies and associated events had excellent reviews, enabling the follow up comic: Spineless, for Great North Museum: Hancock with a print run of 20,000 copies.
Managing Editor | Applied Comics Etc. Newcastle Science Comic: Asteroid Belter, 2012: Created project standards and provided feedback for artists in accordance with the British Science Festival vision. Prepared artwork and worked with printers to guarantee quality.
Made in Newcastle, 2010-2012: Community arts empty shop project. Leading committee member.
Paper Jam Comics Collective, 2009-present: I have contributed to over 15 of the group’s collaborative comics anthologies on various topics and been responsible for finance and print pre-production of anthologies since 2014.

Helix Arts Artists Agency: Make It Happen, 2025: Participated in a programme of six workshops on participatory arts, covering project drivers, planning, budgeting, risk management, safeguarding, marketing, fundraising and monitoring.
