OK, So it should be pretty apparent by the images but i downloaded it and tried it just to confirm my suspicions. This does nothing to the look of your browser. At all. It does however utilize what I would imagine is some CSS trickery to change the design of the webpage you’re looking at and darken the colors of the website. I guess this would be better described as a webpage night-mode simulator, as it simulates a night mode for the individual site. In my book, a browser night mode doesn’t change the website at all, but changes the browser; ie the grey at the top, the tabs bar, the favorite menu, the bookmarks drawer… all the pieces that are part of the browser running locally, not any of the content it has requested. I can see how some people might want this, but this is definitely NOT a browser dark mode.
Hi there,The Night Mode feature works only in the website content because this is a Safari extension. Default is this feature disabled, and the user (such as you) can enable this in the Options page. And it explains also on this page that this only changes the website style (with the custom CSS settings for text, hyperlink, and background). However, in another modern web browser such as Firefox the 'Turn Off the Lights' Firefox extension can dim the User Interface of this web browser app. So, everything is dark with a single click on the lamp button. From the toolbar to the buttons. But in Apple Safari that is not possible with the API limit. If you need any help or have a question or for feedback, don't hesitate to contact us on this support form:https://www.turnoffthelights.com/supportWe are happy to help you over there. Thanks,
