This app does not record, collect, or send your data anywhere — for three reasons:
1. There's absolutely no need, it's just a feed of your own web camera.
2. I wouldn't do that, that's just creepy.
3. And most importantly: I don't even have the programming skills to do that. Seriously, but thanks for thinking that I did!
This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.

If you EVER have to jump on a Zoom, Google Meet, or do any tuts or explainer videos, THIS IS A MUST HAVE APP. How many times have you had to jump through hoops with PhotoBooth, hoping feverishly that you can check your appearance before that meeting? It's not fun. Besides, that whole clunky process is eliminated BEAUTIFULLY with the elegant, essential app known as Hand Mirror. Hats off to the dev for making this app (which should be standard with all Macs) available. With it, you can easily check your mic level, appearance, and have a useful variety of window options. VERY handy for tutorials, video reviews, explainer vids, and meetings. Works perfectlcly with Apple Silicon on MacBook Pro!
Simple and Useful

I love Hand Mirror. At first it seemed like a silly concept for an app, but over the last year I’ve had it installed I have come to use it almost daily. I am a streamer, so it’s nice to use as a quick check on what the camera sees when arranging or moving stuff, instead of booting up the streaming software fully. One click and boom - clear vision of what the camera sees. Also for other more self-absorbed things, like checking my hair or make up, silently judging myself, etc, it’s so quick and effective. A surprisingly useful little app. Highly recommend!
How is this not standard with all Macs?

This is one of those tools that you won't know you need until you've ever been stuck in a situation where you needed it. Long story short, I am a pharmacy student that occasionally has to record a presentation as an assignment with a live recording of my face somewhere in the corner of the presentation. I've tried everything from OBS to Camtasia (great software, just either takes hella time to set up or are very pricy). This has to be easiest option to make sure you have a recording of yourself and your presentation!
Very useful! (perhaps buggy)

This is a great utility app that I use to a) help make sure my appearance is presentable before video calls and b) to adjust the things in the background that I stage before the same video calls. I found that the app couldn't access my secondary camera (Logitech USB cam) after waking my computer, though it could show the built-in camera on my MBP. After a few days of not caring, I noticed that Hand Mirror was taking up 5 GB of memory. I quit the app and relaunched and it seems to be fine and can access the external webcam now.
Developer Response
Thanks so much for the review! Your secondary camera *should* work with today's update, and the memory leak — oops — I'll try to reproduce and fix it soon!
∙ Fixed an issue where the Smart Window could appear on the wrong display after restarting the app
∙ Fixed an issue where the Snaps setting would turn itself back on after restarting the app
∙ Fixed an issue where the annotation tools and color picker could be hidden or appear empty when taking a snap
∙ Stability and performance improvements
