You can quick look inside folders and archives with Folder Preview in Finder or any other third-party file management apps. Before started, you will have to enable the Quick Look extension in System Settings. Then you can press spacebar or ⌘ + Y to quick look folders or archive files in Finder or other apps. You can also right-click the column header to show or hide columns. Folder Preview also supports showing thumbnails of images, SVGs, and PDF documents. ## Supported file extensions of archives - zip - tar - gz - 7z - rar

A great app that just keeps getting better! This simple little tool makes your day-to-day workflow on MacOS 1000 times better. One of those silly little things that should be standard on the Mac, but, it’s not. And therefore I am thankful for Folder Preview. Great work, and a must have.

I recently purchased Folder Preview Pro to enhance my workflow. While I appreciate the concept of the app, I have encountered two significant issues that hinder the "quick access" experience I expected from the Pro version. Since App Store refunds are difficult, I am sincerely hoping these issues will be addressed in a future update.1. Latency and Responsiveness The app feels sluggish. There is a noticeable delay when previewing or interacting with files, rather than a snappy, instant response. For a productivity tool designed for speed, this lag makes the app feel unoptimized. I strongly urge you to improve the performance speed in the next update.2. Navigation UX (Double-Click Behavior) Currently, having to right-click to open or execute a file/folder inside the preview is quite cumbersome and counter-intuitive. It defeats the purpose of a quick preview tool. I understand there might be a specific design intent behind this, but it slows down the workflow significantly—especially when combined with the lag mentioned above.Could you please add an option in the Preferences to customize the "Double-Click" action? Users should be able to choose whether a double-click "Enters the Folder / Opens the File" or just stays in preview mode. Giving users this choice would greatly improve usability.I look forward to seeing these improvements.

Does what it says, even in ForkLift, a Finder replacement. It would be nice if one could select a file within the preview and click to open it but it's stable and useful.

Yeah, it would be nice. But Quick Look extensions are not allowed to interact with the system, e.g., opening a file.

Yeah, it would be nice. But Quick Look extensions are not allowed to interact with the system, e.g., opening a file.
