Have you ever wondered “who is that actor?”, or perhaps “when was this movie released?”, or “what was the title of that one episode of that show I love”? Maybe you're a film aficionado, and wonder “how old was this person when this movie was released”?
Have you wanted to answer those questions *without* being prompted to log in every five seconds? Without advertisements, and without auto-playing videos? Without relying on a multinational conglomerate that is trying to sell you things?
You'll love Callsheet.
Callsheet is the best way to quickly look up information about the cast and crew in TV and movies. It respects your time, doesn't try to sell you stuff you don't need, and is designed to answer your questions quickly and easily.
Callsheet also has some novel features that your previous favorite database app does not:
• Prevent spoilers when watching TV shows by optionally hiding character names, episode counts, episode titles, or episode thumbnails.
Don't let yourself get spoiled on a character's secret identity, or that they'll leave the show quickly, by hiding those hints.
• Quick access to trivia, Wikipedia, parental guidance, and where to watch (provided by JustWatch).
• Pin shows, movies, or people for quick access.
• Find things you've searched for before using recent searches and search history.
• Easily see the age of cast members *when a film was released* right inline with the cast list
• Easily see the age of a person for each entry in their filmography
• Easily see the height of actors (when possible)
• Dark mode support
• VoiceOver support
• Alternate app icons for subscribers
• Automatic, no-login integration with the wonderful Channels app
• Experimental, no-login integration with Plex
Callsheet is written by one person, who REALLY cares about respecting your time. Callsheet is designed to let you drop in, find what you need with no fuss, and then get back to the movie or show you really care about. No distractions, and no requests to log in.
Callsheet offers 20 searches for free, and then requires a subscription. Subscriptions all come with a 1-week free trial. They support Family Sharing.
Give Callsheet a try. You won't believe how much better it is than the app you were using before.

Fast and a good fit

This app retains the speed and simplicity of the phone version, and is also a good fit for this platform. The app looks very nice with the new glassy semi-transparent material look, and the movie poster thumbnails are high enough quality that they look fine when presented as quite large. The “touch” targets and buttons are big enough that it’s relatively easy to activate them without making mistakes. The main search bar now adorns the bottom of the window. There’s a search history panel that makes it easier to access past searches through large buttons instead of trying to type. I couldn’t correctly clear out the search history in that panel, but I expect that it may be a feature that’s coming soon. The features here don’t require augmented or virtual reality, but it’s great to have the app here because many people are using their devices to watch movies and television. Generally, if you’re happy with this app on other platforms, you’ll probably also be happy with it here because the quality is similarly very high and it follows native platform conventions.
Not competitive but a start

Decent app with potential but marketed as better than IMDb, which may be true in some ways but it misses the point. Apps like Reelgood are free and much more feature packed. There are dozens of others and even IMDb has user-generated content (reviews, trivia, goofs, etc) that this app can't compete with. I realize this app links to IMDb but it's a disjointed experience and especially odd, considering this app is touted as better than IMDb but then uses IMDb as a crutch. I would turn on a dime if this app offered radically better UI than competition or features that none of the others had. Give me advanced power-user filters that let me filter by runtime and other metadata. Give me a way to tell which movies an actor stars in, not just movies they appear in. Spoiler hiding is cute but not enough. There's a lot that could be done that wouldn't require more data (see Reelgood's Cue, Reels, Roulette, Search Party, etc) but ultimately I worry that TMDB isn't a good enough data source and will limit this app in the long term. In the short term, I hope to see significant UI enhancements and/or clever features that no other apps have. Currently, this app does no single thing better than other apps, nor does it compete with other apps as a whole. Pretty much the only things it does have going for it right now are privacy, ad-free, and no account creation. That's not nothing but don't give this app a pass just because the dev is known in the iOS community. If you compare it against more than just IMDb, it's clearly lacking.
The critics are calling it ‘Delightful!’

I’ll be honest. I downloaded the app because I genuinely wanted to support Casey (he’s a good guy), and figured I’d subscribe even though Callsheet is ‘just’ a front end to a website. Oh, was I wrong! The app is fast, responsive and, more importantly, a delight to use. Every screen has the information I care about, but no more. I went to the source website to see if I’d been missing out on the best movie site ever. Nope. There’s so much clutter there that Callsheet has swept away leaving me in a figurative zen garden of movie information. I think I’ve spent the last hour or so just browsing, and searching, and browsing some more. Learning about a bunch of actors I just couldn’t be bother to go spelunking on Wikipedia (or worse… the other ‘mdb’) because they are right there, with their age, and their photo. Seriously Casey, if you’re reading this, I’ll double down on my offer: come back to Austin and I’ll buy you as many beverages as you want. Thank you for this amazing app, and thank you for caring about good UX.
This release is a fast-follow to 2026.1.
In this release, 2026.2, I fixed a bug [that I also created] that prevented age calculations from showing in movies more than 20 years old.
Since many of you probably didn't get a chance to see the release notes for 2026.1, I've repeated those below:
Happy [belated] New Year! Lots and lots of changes in this build!
As Callsheet rounds out its third year, I'm thankful for anyone who has downloaded the app, and incredibly thankful for those who subscribe. Thank you for helping me make an app I'm really proud of.
NEW FEATURES
- As of the prior version, you could enable/disable sections within the Discover screen. Now, you can reorder them as well!
- When looking at a person, the drop-down that lets you filter cast/crew/etc now *also* lets you exclude roles of "Self"
- Additionally, if you tap-and-hold on a credit for "Self", the context menu also allows you to toggle off "Self" credits
- Where possible, TV series will show the approximate ages of cast/crew during the run of the show.
- Add a context menu for Search History on the Discover screen
ENHANCEMENTS
- Increased contrast & size on the search bar
- Allow for more than 100 pins in a single list. Recents are limited to 100 and search history to 50.
- For TV episodes released today, the popover shows "today" instead of answering the question "how many hours has it been since midnight?"
- Added a "More info…" link to the integrations section, with additional information on how to get Plex working
BUG FIXES
- Fix an issue where opening a link in the system browser would cause the search bar to disappear
- The "Upcoming" section for people is consistently ordered now
- Fix some occasional wonkiness with the search prompt for the local search scope
- The up/down arrows for movie collections now use chevrons for better consistency
- The URL scheme callsheet://activateInput works again. Sorry about that!
- The keyboard will dismiss interactively on the Discover screen
- Fix issue where the subscribe button would flash to "0" for a moment when it was being hidden
- Small fixes to the Norwegian translation
- Prevent edge case where the paywall could be avoided by using URL schemes
- Reduce the size of the URLSession cache to prevent runaway filesystem usage
- Additional logging around Region Override to see if I can track down a rare but nasty bug
