probably the coolest design and best selection of music. the videos while playing the music, UI, all of it the best! i just wish they had the same UI within carplay. the moment i can pull up this app with the same buttons and videos in my car, is the moment this app literally takes off!!

Thanks so much for the kind words BigFan! We're a big fan of yours too! Sadly CarPlay rules don't let any app have a stylised UI - we agree that would be incredibly cool. For safety reasons, they keep every CarPlay audio app fully stripped back, like you'll see on Spotify and Apple Music. Otherwise we'd be going to town on a CarPlay UI! Much love.

Absolutely beautiful app with a look that completely fits the vibe of the music and appeals to my nostalgia for outdated technology (in look only) and old commercials and travelogues. Functionally it’s simple, but what it does, it does very well with only one minor bug I noticed (switching to another app and back can cause the playlist to revert back to the first song, so repeats are a bit too common). My only suggestion would be one additional station for “sunset” music that focuses on more pure vaporwave instrumentals. Hangover Club is great for that, but with all the great relaxing “martini under a palm tree on a sunny day at a classy private resort” tunes, I think it just needs the one more “red sun setting against a pink idealistic 1980’s sky at the end of the day” station. On the other hand, too many options could threaten the simple purity of what the app is going for as a piece of art aiming for a specific tone, and the devs have earned my trust to do what’s best. Amazing work and great musical taste.

  • It is Enjoyable

Poolsuite FM is fun to listen to and appeals to people feeling nostalgic over loss of technology while still being modern. But there are a couple things that irritate me endlessly as a user including the same songs playing when I first open the app and there being no fast forward or rewind button. The same songs are playing when I first open the app most days. It isn’t that I don’t like those songs per say… It is more like that if those songs were to pop up occasionally through out the day as I listen, then that feels more exciting than being fed the same round of food almost every time I stop in. If I like the song, I will favorite the first time I listen. There is no need to keep playing it straight away in case I may suddenly decide I like it. Perhaps this is an error between the app and my phone? I am not stuck on my favorites playlist or anything. I wonder if someone must pay Poolsuite FM to be the first person played and that is what is causing this? I used to think maybe the songs were very limited in number and this caused repetitiveness, but I have realized I can listen extendedly and hear a new song every time as long as I skip the first four or so songs. This is something I do not understand.Again, I would appreciate a fast forward and rewind button. Right now all we have is the option to skip or go back.Thank you otherwise for an interesting app.

  • Should be better; could be better

Functionally, the app is bad. Aesthetically and musically, fantastic. Read on for what I mean: Ok I listen to Poolsuite all the time. I love the vibes, whether at the gym, in my car, playing video games, we even play Poolsuite FM in our office as it keeps the spirits up and is very relaxing. My reason for 2 stars is because the app does not work well on a functional level. Firstly, it is not fully compatible with modern iPhones such as 15 Pro Max. It works, but the formatting needs a refresh due to the camera/notch island. Second, the app will randomly stop playing music, will play the same songs, and plays the same songs when opening the app. This is annoying. For example, I was just listening to the app at my office while writing this review instead of working and the music stopped playing. I don’t get it. The website does similar things so that kinda makes my plans to setup Poolsuite FM on a raspberry Pi DoA since it’s not a reliable way to listen. One thing about the website over the app is that the shuffling feature works a lot better and I don’t hear the same song within an hour as frequently. Really wish these critical issues would be resolved because I love the simplicity this app provides and the aesthetic. Considering it hasn’t been updated in a very long time, it is doubtful, however.

  • In its own words: "Luxurious yet leisurely"

I've yet to find a music streaming app with as much love put into it as Poolsuite FM. The nostalgic summer aesthetic is so well executed that it almost feels like a crime to leave the app running in the background, not to mention THE MUSIC. The songs -- all provided via SoundCloud -- fit perfectly with the aesthetic the app is going for. It's so easy to picture yourself by a pool or beach listening to these tracks. If there's any criticism I could possibly make, it's that the app version starts off on the same track each time the app opens (i.e. "need a girl like shego" when choosing the "hangover club" station), but it honestly feels like nitpicking.TLDR; if this app won't make you want to go swimming you're probably dead inside.

  • New update is almost nonfunctional

I’ve been using the mobile app since 2022 and it’s always worked flawlessly, up until this update.I love the new changes to the UI - having mixtapes on mobile is great, and the theming feels way more fitting for mobile use. Everything is far more organized and charming than before. However, I’ve almost always run into playback issues. I’ve never gotten a mixtape to play even on a fast home internet connection, and the radio player will usually play one track before abruptly stopping. I love Poolsuite but the mobile app just doesn’t seem to function properly for me anymore, unsure whether it’s my device or just compatibility issues.
