As a manager I am always juggling a wide range of projects and competing priorities and often have little uninterrupted time to work on focused tasks. The sense of overwhelm is real! I have used many task management systems over the years but always got frustrated about the lack of flexibility in views, tagging etc. Todoist makes my workflows so much more efficient, particularly with the ability to add labels, prioritising level, and scheduled days and times directly within the task name or the description of a forwarded email. The powerful filter queries and label views mean I can quickly prioritise my tasks, see what I need to discuss with a particular staff member, and focus in on what is important at any given time. At this stage I only have two requests: 1. It would be so helpful to be able to set a duration on a task that doesn’t have a scheduled date or time. This would mean I could set up filters for task under 15mins etc and would also help with drag and drop scheduling because I could quickly filter to task that will fit in the time slots I have available. 2. When forwarding emails to Todoist I love that I can set priority and labels by using !! and @. I desperately want to also be able to set project and section by using # and / in the same way. This would save so much time reorganising tasks later. Thank you for such a well thought-out and developed product. It is definitely worth the money.

From Wunderlist then went to To Do but Todoist has been the best of all of them
Nathan Bitting
Previously I used Wunderlist then went to To Do but Todoist has been the best of all of them. Great features and super quick. Definitely more involved than both the other apps but I didn’t even know how much I would benefit from all the features.
Generally excellent
JJJJJJJJJWWWWWWWWW
For a few years Todoist has been very helpful to my perpetually forgetful self. I generally like the feel of it and it’s got plenty of flexibility in which tasks I want to see when. One thing that is immensely valuable is being able to create recurring events that don’t recur on a fixed schedule that is set when I create it, instead based on when I last completed it. eg if I want a reminder to do laundry every week, I might say “every! 7 days”. If I do the laundry a day early, I want the next reminder to be 7 days away, not 1. If I do it a couple of days late, I want the next reminder to be 7 days away, not 5. (TickTick is the only other todo app I know of that can do this.)Downsides:- information density is terrible - huge amounts of white space. Currently there are six items on my “Next 7 Days” view; on this 5.8” screen Todoist can only manage to show me four of them. - calendar integration is absolute garbage.
With the GCal Legacy integration gone, there is no reason to keep using Todoist
FollowTheFez
Why the Legacy integration with gCal was abandoned for the new one I will never understand. My whole workflow relied on this integration which provided not only a two-way sync between Todoist and gCal but, more importantly, the ability to choose which projects I wanted synced. To get this same effect have to use third party apps such as Zapier of IFTTT, but even those don’t compare to Legacy. The Todoist response of “change is hard” but that it’s “for the best” is an absolute slap in the face. On the bright side, as this integration is now gone, I have no reason to continue using Todoist and am free to look for a cheaper alternative.
