You don’t have to be a feng shui expert to tidy up in A Little to the Left: Stars. Artfully arrange household items—books, cutlery, the contents of a closet—so they all fit properly in their space. Sort seashells into symmetrical displays, hang tools on a pegboard—you’ll even tilt hanging pictures at off-kilter angles (gasp!) to level the horizon shown in each one.
What we love: The soothing feeling that comes from organizing junk drawers and sorting medicine cabinets. Seeing clutter lined up just so is immensely satisfying—if only it was this much fun in real life!
Quick tip: You can earn extra stars on some puzzles by finding different ways to sort objects, such as lining up pencils by their sharpness or by their place on the colour spectrum. Or arranging books by height, thickness, or in a way that connects the patterns across their spines. Get creative!
Meet the creator: Daniel Crane, Annie Macmillan, and Lukas Steinman are the tiny team at Nova Scotia–based indie studio Max Inferno. Stuck at home in 2020 during the pandemic—and coping with the feeling of things being out of control—they came up with the idea for a game about seeking order through household objects.
