SOPA Changes in Victoria, Australia The Victorian SOPA reforms are due any day, bringing Victoria into alignment with security of payment processes used across the rest of Australia. One of the most significant changes will be the abolition of Victoria’s long‑standing “excluded amounts” rule, meaning time‑related costs and certain disputed variations will now be claimable under the Act. With a timeline of seven weeks between a Payment Claim and an Adjudicator’s Decision, project teams must be ready to respond to the anticipated increase in adjudication applications.
