In a first for India, HBO Max launched as a hub on JioHotstar, consolidating HBO, Max Originals, Warner Bros. Pictures, Warner Bros. Television, and DC Studios content.
This marks a significant shift in India’s streaming landscape, as JioHotstar previously distributed HBO content through a multi-year licensing deal. HBO Max is the streaming service owned by the global media and entertainment company Warner Bros. Discovery, while JioHotstar is an Indian streaming service owned by JioStar India Private Limited (formerly Star India Private Limited).
