Ore Nuggets are the main currency in Gothic 1 Remake, and getting more is key to training your skills, learning new abilities, and purchasing supplies. The game's economy is quite harsh, more so for new players, so getting more of these will be challenging for those who don't know where to look for them.

Farming Money (Nuggets) in Gothic 1: Full Step-by-Step Guide
Before getting into farming money in Gothic 1 Remake, players need to know three things that will determine how their relationship with the currency system works in the game:
- Items (except plants) do not respawn.
- Enemies do not respawn.
- Nuggets Are Scarce, and the main source of them is through trading
If players have been around for about 1 hour and a half into the game, they will begin to see where the problem lies: Limited resources plus limited money equals a harsh in-game economy. Gothic 1 Remake doesn't sugarcoat this for players: They will get mugged often, their items will be stolen, and it can be absolutely frustrating.
Luckily, there's a trick to farming money in the game, and that is to obtain the Hunting/Gathering/Butchering skills from an NPC called Drax, who is located near the Old Camp, in the crossroads leading to the North Gate. Players will need to give him a Beer to make him spill the beans about hunting in the area. Later, they can ask him to train them in more Hunting techniques.
Players cannot miss him, as he is settled there on their path from the starting area of the game. Once they level up at least once, they should rush to get 150 Nuggets (by selling Junk, some weapons they don't want, and spare food to traders like Fisk).
The first ability they need to unlock is the extraction of Teeth for 1 Skill point and 175 Nuggets. Then, they should learn to remove fur for 250 Nuggets and 1 Skill point. The other two skills (Remove Claws and Skin Reptiles) are also essential when hunting down Reptiles and Wolves, so rush them once you get the total of 4 Skill Points and 725 Nuggets.
Why rush these first? Simple: Enemies don't respawn, and corpses will not be looted after killing them, so having these skills early means more materials extracted from enemies, and that is the same as having more money. The next method is, of course, to become a burglar and ransack NPC huts and houses like a madman. This is effective, but risky, and also requires players to learn how to Lockpick, which is frankly, a matter of save-scumming next to a chest.
The trick lies in waiting until the "guard shift," where NPCs roam or camp outside their houses. Some NPCs prefer to be active during the day, others at night. Observe their movements, then enter their dwellings when no one is around (watch out for the patrolling guards), then open chests to get tons of Ores, Mats, and useful items.
Players should also visit Fingers and invest 50 Nuggets and 1 Skill Point in learning how to Pickpocket. This will unlock a whole new world for them, and the options to get more money will pop up infinitely, since random NPCs carry some goods around and are easy targets to rob.
Be careful, though, as NPCs are likely to attack and kill you on sight if they catch you pickpocketing. Improving your Dexterity Score will increase your chances of successfully stealing items without being detected.
