If you have a favorite car in Forza Horizon 6 (I've personally been super into one of the best Drag cars, the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro), then you might notice some wear and tear, especially if you've been ramming into other vehicles or slamming into buildings and whatnot while trying to find the hidden Barns and Treasure Cars.
Indeed, Forza Horizon 6 has a setting that lets you not only turn off visual car damage entirely but also play the game more realistically, with damage affecting your vehicle's tires and engine, reducing overall performance. This guide will show you how to toggle the visual damage settings, so you can play your way.

Turning Off Car Damage in Forza Horizon 6
Make Your Car Shine Again
If your car has major wear and tear in Forza Horizon 6, you can easily adjust the visual damage settings by pausing and opening Settings under the 'Campaign' tab.
When you're in there, go into the Difficulty settings and then scroll down until you see 'Damage & Tire Wear.' You'll have three options to pick from:
-
None
- Choosing 'None' means your car will have no visible damage at all, no matter how hard you crash it.
-
Cosmetic
- If you choose 'Cosmetic,' your car will show signs of wear and tear (including cracked windows), but it won't affect the vehicle's performance.
-
Simulation
- And if you choose 'Simulation,' your car will show wear and tear, and the damage will affect its performance.
How to Quickly Reset Cosmetic Damage in FH6
If you just want to take a nice photo of your vehicle without messing with the settings, press the up button on the directional pad, then press LB/L1 to instantly reset cosmetic damage. Just be warned that once you press this button, the damage to the car will still be repaired even after you're done with photo mode.
