How to Escort the Overwatch Payload in Fortnite
The Payload is an activity that players can take part in during their Battle Royale matches, with one spawning at a specific location at any given time as a Rift Anomaly. Once spawned in, players can track the Overwatch Payload on their map at all times.
Those who have played Overwatch may be familiar with this Payload, but for those who are not, here is a rundown of how it works. Once you are by the Payload, you will need to remain in its vicinity to move it. The goal here is to escort it to the Payload’s destination, which will be indicated by a glowing pathway along the route of the Payload.
As you escort the Payload, loot will drop from it at random intervals. It is imperative that you stay by the Payload during this time, as if there are no players around it, it will simply stay still and not budge an inch. We also recommend keeping an eye out for other players, as they can also track the Payload’s location on the map.
Successfully escorting the Payload all the way to its final destination will grant you a total of four guaranteed Overwatch Caches. These caches offer you a chance of earning either Tracer’s Pulse Pistols or Mercy’s Caduceus Staff, but can also allow you to get the Kinetic Blade or even the Exotic Overdrive Pulse Rifle.
All Overwatch Payload Locations in Fortnite
The Payload has a fixed destination that it will be escorted to. As such, the Overwatch Payload tends to spawn in specific locations not too far from these destinations, so be sure to head to them if they happen to fall within the circle during your games.
Only one Payload will spawn in a game of Battle Royale, and even then it is not guaranteed. In the meantime, see the map provided above for all the possible Payload locations and escort destinations to get an idea of where you should head to.
