Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is getting a Job system, with Square Enix sharing a look at the game's new iteration of the Final Fantasy franchise's staple feature. Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will also mark the first time in several years that a mainline Final Fantasy title has been available day one on multiple platforms.
Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will launch in spring 2027, though Square Enix has not revealed a precise release date as of this writing. Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will be the conclusion of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series. With the threat of Meteor looming overhead, Cloud and his allies will face Sephiroth in a decisive battle for the fate of their planet. Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will feature gigantic Weapons as bosses that the party will encounter, along with the addition of Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind to the cast of playable characters. Vincent can use his guns and Galian Beast transformation to tear through the battlefield, while Cid can fly through the air with powerful jumps and lance strikes. However, Vincent and Cid are not the only combat changes coming to FF7 Revelation.
Street Fighter 6 is Adding FF7's Tifa to the Roster
The rumors were true as Final Fantasy 7's Tifa is officially coming to the Street Fighter 6 roster alongside 3 other characters during Year 4.
Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is Returning to the Franchise's Roots
During Summer Game Fest, Square Enix gave fans an idea of what to expect in Final Fantasy 7 Revelation. One of Revelation's key new combat features is the Function-Integrated Tactical Suitwear (FITS) system, which is the game's take on the Final Fantasy series' iconic Job system. These uniforms are imbued with different move sets, allowing players to customize each character to their liking. For example, Tifa can equip a Black Mage Job outfit to cast magic, while Cloud can don a Warrior Job uniform to improve his close-range capabilities. Additionally, Final Fantasy 7 Revelation briefly teased Barett donning a heavily armored Job uniform, along with Cait Sith in a Summoner's Job outfit.
However, it is currently unclear how many Job FITS are included in Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, so fans must wait for more information. Final Fantasy 7 Revelation's FITS can be equipped alongside each character's weapon and accessories. Each character starts off as a Freelancer, but can earn more Job FITS as the story progresses. Final Fantasy 7 Revelation players will gain access to Job FITS early on in the main story.
On social media, Final Fantasy 7 Revelation fans compared the FITS system to Final Fantasy 10-2's Dresspheres. The latter Job system granted each character access to a new outfit and abilities based on Final Fantasy Jobs like Black Mage, White Mage, Thief, and Dark Knight. Although there are 20 Dresspheres in Final Fantasy 10-2, it is currently unknown how many Job FITS will be in Final Fantasy 7 Revelation by comparison.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will mark the first mainline Final Fantasy release on a Nintendo platform since the 1994 launch of Final Fantasy 6. Given that FF6's main cast has characters with set Jobs, such as Sabin the Monk, it remains to be seen which kinds of Jobs will be made into FITS once Final Fantasy 7 Revelation launches next spring.
