Contrasting with some well-known TCGs, Riftbound isn't a deathmatch between opponents—instead, it's a race to score points by maintaining control of Battlefield cards. This race format paves the way for engaging multiplayer matches where nobody is eliminated until a winner is declared. Politics can come into play with shifting alliances and underhanded maneuvers, and some cards seem to be ideal for aiding teammates. Overall, it's a TCG that feels much like a real-time strategy game, with much of its League of Legends MOBA DNA kept largely intact.

Riftbound Developer Discusses the League of Legends TCG's Most Unique Qualities

Joey Brown

Games

Riftbound: League of Legends Trading Card Game

Riot Games

While name recognition is certainly helpful, perhaps the way Riftbound benefits most from the League of Legends brand is its champions, which have translated from the PC MOBA into a wide range of distinct playstyles within the TCG.

Riftbound League of Legends TCG Card Reveal [EXCLUSIVE]

Joey Brown

Games

Riftbound: League of Legends Trading Card Game

Riot Games
