Fallout 76: Infestation Update: What's New?
Here is a list of the most important changes in Fallout 76: Infestation:
- Players will be able to participate in Infestation Activities, where they will need to find and clear out Infestations of challenging enemies for a chance to earn 4-Star Rewards.
- New Fishes based on the Seasons are added: Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring. Players will need to be up to the challenge to become the ultimate Wasteland Anglers.
- A new Deathclaw C.A.M.P. Pet is available through the Deathclaw Bundle on Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam stores.
- Next-Gen Update: Starting June 2026, a public testing period will be available, alongside Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5/Pro versions of the game with improved graphics. Players need to stay tuned to the official channels to learn when they will be able to sing in for the new version of the game. Once the test period is over, it will be implemented globally.
- A new season begins. Season 25 kicks off with Appalachia Under Siege, and players can band together to defend the lands from the Infestation and earn lots of seasonal rewards.

What Are Infestations & How To Join The Event
Infestations, unlike other events, need to be discovered by exploring the map, and players will have to explore the Toxic Valley, Forest, Ash Heap, Savage Divide, Mire, and Cranberry Bog regions to find them. Various infestations can appear at the same time, so choose your battles wisely.
Unattended infestations will circle around other spawning zones until players defeat the Factions causing the disturbance. When an infestation occurs, the Faction leading the event will push away the local enemies. Ex: If you are exploring the Savage Divide, and are near a Blood Eagle base when there's a Super Mutant Infestation, then you'll have to fight Empowered Super Mutant enemies in that zone.

These empowered enemies will cause more damage and will be harder to take down., plus, they will also be accompanied by an elite-level boss enemy. Each Infestation boss will have their own unique weapon and be afflicted by a random Mutation to spice things up more.
Ideally, players will want to join an Exploration Public Team or Event Team to clear out Infestations more efficiently. Remember that the rewards are guaranteed 4-Star Legendary Weapons or Armor, so there's a very good reason to dive into these potential death traps.
Other rewards might include new Legendary Mods like the Vector (Armor Mod), which Increase accuracy in V.A.T.S. from a very long distance by 10% (up to 50%), or the Tarnished (Weapon Mod) that increases damage the lower the equipped item condition is (up to 120%).
