Neon Odyssey is a new third-party Dungeons and Dragons supplement that includes over 40 sci-fi subclasses, 30 playable aliens, 300 monsters, rules for space combat and bounty hunting, and more. Using this trio of Dungeons and Dragons books, which were funded in a matter of seconds on Kickstarter, gamers can live out space opera fantasies like Star Wars or Cowboy Bebop.
Avantris Entertainment is a third-party Dungeons and Dragons company that got its start with the popular actual play, Legends of Avantris. Though not as popular as Critical Role, Legends of Avantris has nine campaigns under its belt and has a large following. Avantris Entertainment also released The Crooked Moon, a massive 632-page tome of folk-horror D&D options for players and tools for Dungeon Masters.
Dungeons and Dragons Just Became Pay-to-Win
Dungeons and Dragons introduces a new system on D&D Beyond that essentially adds a pay-to-win element to the popular TTRPG.
Neon Odyssey Brings Dungeons and Dragons to the Stars
Now, Avantris Entertainment has revealed another project that is even larger than The Crooked Moon. Neon Odyssey consists of three books – the Outrunner’s Handbook, the Cosmic Codex, and the Overdrive Expansion – that bring space operas to life in Dungeons and Dragons. Space-opera versions of every core class in the new D&D 5.5e rules, the new Machinist class, and over 40 subclasses, 30 species, 100 spells, 300 monsters, and more will be found across the three books, which will contain more than 1,400 pages. To celebrate the campaign launch, Avantris Entertainment even released a music video for Neon Odyssey, featuring an original track from popular synthwave band The Midnight and stunning animation featuring characters from the Stardust Rhapsody: Anthem campaign that inspired this book.

Though it doesn’t have a solid release date yet, fulfillment is expected by November 2027.

Fans of this project should also check out Idols of the Neon Dark, a third-party D&D supplement inspired by KPop Demon Hunters. The campaign is already funded and closed on Kickstarter, but late backing is available for those interested in bringing more neon lights into their D&D games.
