Ultra Instinct is the best thing to happen to Goku since he unlocked Super Saiyan on Namek back in Dragon Ball Z. Introduced in Dragon Ball Super's Tournament of Power, Ultra Instinct is the ultimate transformation – a hybrid form/technique developed by Angels that allows the user to instinctively dodge and counter any attack, while offering a massive power, speed, and defense boost when mastered. Unlike other transformations, Ultra Instinct is extremely hard to keep active, let alone trigger, and Goku ended the Dragon Ball Super anime unable to willingly use Ultra Instinct.

Dragon Ball Super 2 is going to change everything in the upcoming Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol anime, as Goku finally masters Ultra Instinct and unlocks Perfected Ultra Instinct. Unfortunately for Goku, and the universe, Dragon Ball Super 2 will also introduce the one villain in the franchise powerful enough to use Ultra Instinct: Planet Eater Moro. Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku's final battle with Ultra Instinct Moro in Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol is going to break the internet in half once Dragon Ball Super 2 finally airs once Dragon Ball Super: Beerus ends in either 2027 or 2028.

Moro Will Transcend Into a God-Tier Threat With Angelic Abilities

Planet Eater Moro is one of the most dangerous villains in Dragon Ball Super. A mix of Demon King Piccolo, Perfect Cell, and Super Buu, Moro grows stronger by eating the energy of other lifeforms, soaking entire civilizations and planets dry of their Ki. Once he consumes Seven-Three, Moro gains the ability to absorb the powers of anyone he touches. During the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga’s final battle, Moro absorbs the Angel Merus’ powers, granting him access to God Ki, as well as Ultra Instinct.

Ultra Instinct Moro goes from so weak, he breaks his hand on Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku’s body, to strong and fast enough to fully keep up with him as they battle around the world. Dragon Ball Super 2 will more than likely enhance Goku’s final battle with Moro, showing just how deadly Ultra Instinct is in the hands of a true villain. Their fight is only a few pages in the manga, but is worthy of an entire episode dedicated to showing the full might of an Ultra Instinct versus Ultra Instinct showdown.

Dragon Ball Super 2 Will Feature the Anime’s First Ultra Instinct VS Ultra Instinct Battle

Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku vs Ultra Instinct Moro

Until Goku finally gets his rematch with Beerus, Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku versus Ultra Instinct Moro remains the only UI vs UI battle in the Dragon Ball franchise. Although Goku’s spent two arcs trying to master Ultra Instinct at this point, just absorbing Merus’ abilities brings Moro’s Power Level up to par with PUI Goku. Even before this fight, Goku called Moro the toughest opponent he's ever fought, confirming that Moro is FAR stronger than either Broly or Jiren.

Goku and Moro’s Ultra Instinct battle is one of the greatest fights in the Dragon Ball Super manga, featuring some of Toyotarou’s best art and choreography. Goku is truly evenly matched, as Moro is able to counter him and quickly understand how to use Ultra Instinct to its fullest. The fight slowly spirals out of control, however, as Moro’s body starts to reject Ultra Instinct. To survive, Moro fuses himself to the Earth and starts draining every living thing’s Ki, turning into an overwhelmingly powerful foe even Perfected Ultra Instinct Goku can't defeat without Vegeta and Uub’s help.

Moro is Dragon Ball Super’s Best-Written Villain & Saga

Dragon Ball Super 2 is going to be off to an amazing start by adapting the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Saga. Moro is the best-written villain in the series, combining the sheer danger and ruthlessness of King Piccolo, with Frieza’s cunning, and Cell’s charisma. Moro also poses a serious challenge to both Goku and Vegeta, inspiring them to go on amazingly crafted training arcs that help develop their characters while making them stronger than ever.

Dragon Ball Super Officially Set Up the Strongest Villain in Shonen Anime History

Dragon Ball Super has set up the most powerful villain, not only in Dragon Ball, but quite possibly anime and manga history.

The Moro Saga has more than enough material to fill out a 26-episode season, meaning that Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol will take at least half a year to get through if done right. While Goku’s final fight with Moro is the highlight, there are several moments in DBS 2 destined to break the internet more than Goku unlocking Ultra Instinct Sign for the first time in the Tournament of Power.
