Goku's perennial rival, Vegeta is one of the most powerful characters in the Dragon Ball multiverse. Whether it's in the canon timeline, non-canon series, or spin-offs, the Prince of All Saiyans is always pushing himself past his limits. It doesn't take much for Vegeta to catch up to Goku's Power Level, and as of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, Vegeta has officially beaten Kakarot and proven himself stronger.
There are no shortage of Vegeta variants across the Dragon Ball manga, DBZ, DBGT, DAIMA, and Dragon Ball Heroes, but they all have one thing in common: raw power. It doesn't matter the timeline or the universe, Vegeta will always find a way to surpass his foes and prove that he's one of the most powerful beings in the Dragon Ball multiverse.
Dragon Ball: 8 Strongest Versions of Goku in the Multiverse, Ranked
Between the manga, anime, movies, GT, DAIMA, and Super Dragon Ball Heroes, there are countless versions of Goku – each one stronger than the last.
8 DAIMA Vegeta Unlocked Super Saiyan 3 Faster Than Goku & With Less Effort
Dragon Ball DAIMA
It took Goku seven years of intense training in the afterlife just to unlock Super Saiyan 3. Even then, it's implied the only reason he was able to trigger the form at all is because of the lack of stress SSJ3 put on his dead body. It took Dragon Ball DAIMA's Vegeta less than a year to unlock and master Super Saiyan 3 all on his own, suffering no Ki drain issues whatsoever when he uses the form against Tamagami Number Two and later Giant Gomah.
Dragon Ball DAIMA Vegeta has an incredible amount of promise that reflects the Prince of All Saiyan's tenacity. Unfortunately for DAIMA Vegeta, he's held back by the same problem as DAIMA Goku: where the anime is set in the timeline. Dragon Ball DAIMA only takes place one year after the Kid Buu Saga, meaning DAIMA Vegeta is locked at a Power Level much weaker than his counterparts who can use God Ki and Super Saiyan 4 further down the timeline.
7 Baby Vegeta is One of the Strongest Villains in the Franchise
Dragon Ball GT
The result of Baby possessing Vegeta's body in Dragon Ball GT, Baby Vegeta is one of the most powerful and dangerous villains Goku has ever fought in the Dragon Ball franchise. Baby successfully takes over the Earth and nearly kills Goku in the process. The power boost Vegeta gets from being possessed by Baby is massive, making him stronger than Super Saiyan 3 Goku and powerful enough to fight Super Saiyan 4 Goku.
Golden Great Ape Baby Vegeta is outright one of the strongest characters in Dragon Ball GT, and could have killed Super Saiyan 4 Goku if he had better control of his body. Baby Vegeta also has access to unique Tuffle/Saiyan hybrid forms, which he just calls his "Strongest Forms," instead of Super Saiyan. It's a testament to GT Vegeta's natural talent that he's able to surpass Baby Vegeta by the end of the anime.
Dragon Ball: 10 Strongest Hybrid Saiyans, Ranked
Dragon Ball's Hybrid Saiyans have overwhelmingly strong Power Levels that Goku & Vegeta can just barely keep up with through non-stop training.
6 GT Vegeta Caught Up to Super Saiyan 4 Goku Like It Was Nothing
Dragon Ball GT
GT Vegeta carries over his characterization from the end of Dragon Ball Z's Kid Buu Saga, so he's totally over his rivalry with Goku. That doesn't mean he's weak or stops training, though. GT Vegeta is one of few Z-Fighters who holds his own against Super 17, and would have been a better partner for Goku to bring against the Shadow Dragons instead of Pan.
Before the final battle with Syn Shenron, Vegeta allows Bulma to pump him full of Blutz Waves, causing him to unlock Super Saiyan 4 artificially. Despite not doing any harsh training over the course of Dragon Ball GT, Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta is just as powerful as Super Saiyan 4 Goku, evidenced by the fact they can perform the Fusion Dance without Vegeta needing to lower his Ki. That alone highlights just how strong GT Vegeta is in his base form.
5 Copy-Vegeta is Just as Strong as Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta When He Fought Hit
Dragon Ball Super Anime
The main villain of the Dragon Ball Super anime's Copy-Vegeta Saga (and a not-so-subtle jab at Baby Vegeta from Dragon Ball GT), Copy-Vegeta is a perfect replica of Vegeta shortly after the Tournament of Destroyers. Copy-Vegeta has all of Vegeta's powers and transformations from when he fought Hit, including Super Saiyan Blue.
With the exception of Super Saiyan Blue Kaioken (which Goku doesn't use during the fight), Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Super Saiyan Blue Copy-Vegeta are perfectly matched. Goku and Vegeta's Power Levels are exactly equal during this period of Dragon Ball Super, so Goku cannot get an edge over Copy-Vegeta.

4 Toei Vegeta Still Hasn't Surpassed Super Saiyan Blue Evolved in the Anime
Dragon Ball Z & Dragon Ball Super Anime + Movies
Toei Vegeta is the version of Vegeta who appears in the Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super anime, as well as all the movies. Unlike Goku, who often gets a major power boost in the anime continuity, Toei Vegeta remains roughly at the same level as his manga counterpart. Unfortunately for Toei Vegeta, he's held back by the Dragon Ball Super anime wrapping up with the Tournament of Power, meaning his strongest form on-screen is still Super Saiyan Blue Evolved.
The Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie was also written by Akira Toriyama while Toyotarou was writing the Moro and Granolah the Survivor Sagas, so he wouldn't be taking Ultra Ego into consideration. That said, Vegeta still defeats Goku in the movie, so Toei Vegeta is actually stronger than Toei Goku – albeit just slightly. Once the Dragon Ball Super anime finally adapts the Granolah the Survivor Saga in two to three years, Toei Vegeta will become one of the strongest versions of the Prince of All Saiyans.
3 Xeno Vegeta is One of the Most Powerful Warriors in the Multiverse
Super Dragon Ball Heroes
Xeno Vegeta is the Vegeta from Super Dragon Ball Heroes. Like Xeno Goku, Xeno Vegeta is extremely powerful despite the fact he doesn't have access to God Ki. Xeno Vegeta is from a timeline where he and Goku experience some variation of Dragon Ball GT, but not 1:1 with the anime since Goku is still alive. Xeno Vegeta's strongest transformation is Super Full Power Saiyan 4 Limit Breaker, which rivals Super Saiyan Blue Evolved in terms of Power Level.
In the Super Dragon Ball Heroes anime, Full Power SSJ4 Limit Breaker Xeno Vegeta is strong enough to defeat a super-powered version of Janemba. Xeno Vegeta also manages to defeat Gravy, one of the most powerful wizards in the Demon Realm and Dark Empire. Xeno Vegeta may not be as strong as Xeno Goku (and especially not Capsule Corp Goku), but he comes very close and is easily able to keep up with his Xeno rival.
2 Canon Vegeta is Even Stronger Than Goku
Dragon Ball & Dragon Ball Super Manga
Vegeta's on a hot streak right now in the Dragon Ball canon. By the end of Dragon Ball Super Chapter 103, he's beaten Goku in a fair fight, unlocked Ultra Ego after training under Beerus, and sparred with Gohan Beast. Interestingly, Vegeta is still using Super Saiyan Blue Evolved as his main form since he hasn't mastered Ultra Ego, but the fact he held his own against Gohan Beast speaks to just how powerful Canon Vegeta is even holding back.
Now that Vegeta has Ultra Ego, it's unlikely Ultra Instinct Goku will ever seriously surpass him again. Vegeta's also training harder than ever after Black Frieza defeated him in one hit. By training with Beerus, Vegeta will eventually master Ultra Ego and harness his Destructive energy in a way no other Dragon Ball character can. Don't be surprised if Vegeta eventually grows so strong, he becomes Univere 7's next God of Destruction by the end of Dragon Ball Super.
1 Capsule Corp. Vegeta is the Ultimate Version of Vegeta Who Fought Through Almost Every Saga & Movie in the Series
Super Dragon Ball Heroes
Just like Capsule Corp. Goku from Super Dragon Ball Heroes, Capsule Corp. Vegeta is a version of Vegeta who's lived through almost every single anime and movie in the series. CC Vegeta experienced all of Dragon Ball Z, The Return of Cooler, Bojack Unbound, Broly – The Legendary Super Saiyan, the entire Dragon Ball Super anime, and Dragon Ball Super: Broly.
Capsule Corp. Vegeta is the absolute pinnacle of what Vegeta can achieve power-wise. He may not have access to Ultra Ego like his canon counterpart, but that's simply because Super Dragon Ball Heroes never touched on any of the manga-only story arcs. In terms of raw power, Capsule Corp. Vegeta could obliterate every other version of Vegeta with ease.
