Also known as the Frieza Clan and Lineage of Evil, Frost Demons are one of the strongest races in the Dragon Ball universe. As far as Universe 7 is concerned, Frost Demons legitimately are the most powerful race in terms of natural power and raw potential. Without training a single day in his life, Frieza was strong enough to subjugate the entire known universe with no true rival to stop him.
Frost Demons become even more dangerous and interesting when taking spin-offs like Neko Majin Z and Super Dragon Ball Heroes into consideration. With the Dragon Ball Super manga set to start the Black Frieza Saga once Toyotarou comes back from hiatus, Frost Demons Clan's staggering Power Level has never been more relevant.
Dragon Ball: 8 Strongest Characters Who Rival Vegeta, Ranked
Thanks to a lifetime of training, Vegeta has accumulated as many rivals as Goku and is only getting stronger each saga.
7 Chilled is Realistically Weaker Than First Form Frieza
Chilled is Frieza's ancestor and the main villain of Dragon Ball: Episode of Bardock. After Frieza's Supernova attack somehow sends Bardock back in time, he meets Chilled on a primitive version of Planet Vegeta. Chilled is able to easily subdue base Bardock, but it's important to remember that Bardock only has a Power Level of 10,000. Bardock also suffers a worse beat down from Dodoria, who has a Power Level of 22,000 from just one attack.
There's a real chance Chilled's Power Level is only in the mid-10,000s. Once Barodck turns Super Saiyan, he gains a Power Level of 500,000 and completely destroys Chilled, eventually killing him. Paradoxically, Bardock becoming a Super Saiyan causes Chilled to pass down the legend as a warning to his future Frost Demons, turning into the main reason Frieza eventually destroys Planet Vegeta and sends Bardock back in time. Of course, all of this is non-canon to the main Dragon Ball timeline.
6 Kuriza is Frieza's Son, But Nothing Special
Introduced in Neko Majin Z – Akira Toriyama's stealth sequel to the original Dragon Ball manga – Kuriza is Frieza's secret son. Unlike his father, Kuriza isn't all that evil, nor is he a particular threat. According to Toriyama, Frieza and King Cold are the only members of his direct family who are actual powerhouses, meaning Kuriza lags behind.
Kuriza's claim to fame is being playable in select versions of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2. Power-wise, Kuriza is almost certainly stronger than Chilled. Neko Majin Z makes it clear that Kuriza is much weaker than Vegeta from the end of Dragon Ball Z, as well as Neko Majin Z, who becomes one of Goku's students in the manga.
GameRant Quiz
5 King Cold's Power Level is Comparable to Mecha Frieza's
King Cold was once the strongest being in Universe 7 before he passed on his army to Frieza. Before Frieza's time, King Cold was the man who bent the Saiyans to his will. When King Cold is introduced at the start of the Cell Saga, Gohan and Krillin both read his Ki and put it on the same level as Mecha Frieza. Frieza is realistically stronger than King Cold, but not by much according to Dragon Ball Z.
That said, King Cold has no major feats of his own. Future Trunks kills him almost just as fast as he killed Mecha Frieza. Unlike with Frieza – who Trunks had to cut to pieces and eviscerate into dust – all it takes is one Ki blast to the heart to kill King Cold. It's also unclear if King Cold can transform like Frieza, but all signs point to no as Frieza's transformations (other than Golden and Black) are actual power limiters since he can't control his full strength.
4 Froze is Stronger Than Haze Shenron & The Only Human to Become a Frost Demon
Froze is a human from Dragon Ball Heroes who uses the Dragon Ball Heroes arcade cabinets created by Capsule Corp. to turn himself into a Frost Demon. Froze is the only Frost Demon (other than perhaps Kuriza) who is not strictly evil. Froze admires Frieza for his strength, but only uses his Frost Demon powers for good.
In his base form, Froze seems to be around Final Form Frieza's Power Level on Namek. Class-Up Froze, however, is about as strong as Haze Shenron from Dragon Ball GT, scaling him up far higher than most Frost Demons. Super Class-Up Froze is strong enough to battle Super Saiyan 4 Broly, but nowhere near powerful enough to actually hurt him. Like any Dragon Ball Heroes character, Froze is much stronger than he looks.
Dragon Ball: 7 Times Goku Got Outsmarted By His Opponent
From the original Dragon Ball to Dragon Ball Super, Goku’s overconfidence and miscalculations have resulted in him getting outsmarted by his foes.
3 Cooler's Final Form Was Much Stronger Than Frieza's
While non-canon to the original manga and Akira Toriyama's continuity for the franchise, Cooler is actually canon to the Dragon Ball Z anime. Cooler is Frieza's older brother and actually stronger than him, especially when he uses his secret Fifth & Final Form. In Dragon Ball Z: The Return of Cooler, Meta-Cooler is so powerful that Super Saiyan Goku and Super Saiyan Vegeta just barely managed to defeat him after fighting to exhaustion.
Cooler is even stronger in Super Dragon Ball Heroes, where he unlocks his Golden Cooler form and catches up to Golden Frieza. Interestingly, Cooler is not naturally strong like Frieza is. Rather, Cooler actually has to train to become as strong as he is, which is how he briefly surpasses Frieza in Dragon Ball Z. The only way Cooler is going to catch up to Black Frieza (if at all) is if the Dragon Ball Super manga brings him into the story in or after the Black Frieza Saga.
2 Frost is One of the Strongest Fighters in Universe 6
Frost was introduced as Universe 6's heroic counterpart to Frieza. All of this turns out to be an act Frost puts up in order for publicity, but he legitimately is a powerful warrior and one of the strongest Frost Demons of all time. In his Final Form, Frost is stronger than just about every single character from the end of Dragon Ball Z, only looking weak due to Dragon Ball Super's power-scaling.
In the Tournament of Power, Frost ends up working with Frieza to eliminate other fighters. Unfortunately for Frost, Frieza is simply using his powers for his own gain, forcing Frost to wear himself out so he can eventually be easily eliminated. Since Goku was able to fight Resurrection F Frieza in base before he turned Golden, while he needed to turn Super Saiyan to battle Final Form Frost, Frost was slightly stronger than Frieza for a brief period.
1 Frieza is the Most Powerful Mortal in the Dragon Ball Universe
Frieza's growth as a warrior is unparalleled in Dragon Ball. By training for just four months, he goes from weaker than Super Saiyan Goku on Namek, to stronger than Super Saiyan Blue Goku in Resurrection F. By training for ten years in a Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Frieza unlocks his Black Frieza transformation, making him stronger than both Ultra Instinct Goku and Ultra Ego Vegeta combined.
Goku and Vegeta are still training for their eventual final confrontation with Black Frieza, but there's no sign whatsoever they've caught up. Black Frieza is an absolute monster power-wise. He was so strong, he killed Awakened Gas with a single hit. Black Frieza moved so fast, Goku couldn't even react despite having mastered Ultra Instinct. Frieza is currently the strongest mortal in the Dragon Ball universe, and realistically strong enough to kill the gods if he felt so inclined.
