The Demon Realm finally makes its first canon appearance in Dragon Ball DAIMA, but Akira Toriyama had been including the Demon Realm as part of the franchise's lore for years at that point. The Demon Realm is a major setting in Dragon Ball Online, Dragon Ball Xenoverse, and Super Dragon Ball Heroes, home to some of the strongest villains in the series.
The Demon Realm is a complex world featuring overwhelmingly powerful characters who could give Dragon Ball's strongest Z-Fighters a real run for their money. If the Demon Realm ever comes back in the Dragon Ball Super manga, Goku and the rest of the Dragon Team might find themselves dealing with threats even more dangerous than Black Frieza.

12 Majin Dabura Was Strong Enough to Rule the Demon Realm & Babidi's Right-Hand Man
Dabura was once the former Demon King and ruled the Demon Realm with an iron fist, according to Dragon Ball DAIMA. After being possessed by Babidi, Majin Dabura left the Demon Realm for Earth in order to help with the revival of Majin Buu. There, Dabura fought Gohan to a stalemate before being transformed into a cookie and eaten by Fat Buu.
During Gohan’s battle with Dabura, Goku and Vegeta both note that Dabura is roughly as strong as Super Perfect Cell was at the end of the Cell Games. Had Gohan kept training after the Cell Saga, he would have easily been able to defeat Dabura. Instead, the two are evenly matched due to Gohan’s Power Level plateauing in the seven-year gap between the Cell Games and Majin Buu Saga.
11 Kid Buu is More Dangerous Than He is Powerful
Kid Buu is the original version of Majin Buu who originates from the Demon Realm. While the Dragon Ball Z anime would imply otherwise, Kid Buu is actually one of the weakest versions of Majin Buu and significantly weaker than Super Buu, so much so that Super Saiyan 3 Goku is actually able to fight equally with him and would have won if not for SSJ3's massive ki drain.
That said, Kid Buu is still extremely dangerous. Unlike Super Buu, Kid Buu fights without rhyme or reason and will destroy the very planet he's standing on if he feels so inclined. He never grows tired, is hard to read, and learns from his opponents just by watching them. All of this makes Kid Buu one of the strongest and most threatening demons in the Demon Realm.
10 Majin Duu Beat Tamagami 3 Where Dabura Failed
Majin Duu was created by Dr. Arinsu and Marba to be the ultimate Majin warrior after Majin Kuu failed to live up to expectations. Dragon Ball DAIMA reveals that Dabura was never strong enough to beat Tamagami 3 when he was King of the Demon Realm (and never would have had a chance to fight them with his Majin power boost), meaning that Majin Duu has to be stronger than Dabura.
Majin Duu is realistically stronger than both Fat Buu and Kid Buu, as he's able to keep up with Mini Goku and even access his own version of Super Saiyan 3. Majin Duu is one of the main fighters during the final battle with Giant Gomah and greatly assists Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo before Super Saiyan 4 Goku takes full control of the action.
9 Super Janemba is Just as Strong as Super Buu
Before Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods introduced Beerus, Super Jamenba was far and away the strongest villain in the Dragon Ball Z movies. Super Janemba is a demon whose very existence threatens the fabric of reality, and is likely around Buuhan in terms of Power Level. Like with Super Buu, Super Saiyan 3 Goku just cannot compete with Super Janemba's raw power.
Goku and Vegeta are ultimately forced to perform the Fusion Dance and fuse into Gogeta to stop Super Janemba. Super Saiyan Gogeta is so powerful, he kills Super Janemba in no time flat, but this doesn't change the fact that Super Janemba is in a different league of power compared to most Dragon Ball Z villains and an absurdly strong demon in his own right.
8 Giant Gomah is Borderline Unstoppable Thanks to the Evil Third Eye
On his own, Gomah isn't too impressive a fighter and could easily be defeated by any Z-Fighter in Dragon Ball DAIMA, even their Mini variants. With the Tertian Oculus, however, Gomah becomes even stronger than Buuhan, the strongest villain from the end of Dragon Ball Z. Giant Gomah is so powerful, he's able to fight head-on with Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, and Majin Duu without so much as breaking a sweat.
Even Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta struggles to give Giant Gomah a good fight in his adult form. The only character capable of keeping up with Giant Gomah is Super Saiyan 4 Goku. SSJ4 Goku does come close to defeating Gomah, but the Evil Third Eye gives Gomah immortality that can only be deactivated by kicking the back of his neck three times, so he survives Super Saiyan 4 Goku's strongest attack.
7 Towa Has Fought Some of the Most Powerful Characters in Dragon Ball
Dabura's sister and thus Demon Realm royalty, Towa isn't nearly as strong as her brother in her base form, but she's a real force to be reckoned with as Demon Goddess Towa. For the most part, Towa is a scientist who creates artifical demons like Mira and Fu to do her handiwork and tear the very fabric of time apart.
The main evidence of Towa's strength is the fact she's done battle with several of Super Dragon Ball Heroes's most powerful fighters. She not only survived a fight with Dark Broly, she held her own against Super Saiyan Blue Vegito and even fought the Supreme Kai of TIme, Chronoa, in her most powerful form.
6 Mira is a God Tier Demon
One of the main villains of Dragon Ball Online, Dragon Ball Xenoverse, and Super Dragon Ball Heroes alongside Towa, Mira is an artificial demon created to rule the Demon Realm. Not only was Mira one of the Demon Realm's Demon King, his body contains the DNA of several of the strongest characters in existence, much like Cell, but on a much higher level.
At his strongest, Mira is around Super Saiyan Blue levels of power, only being finally defeated by the main character of the Xenoverse games working together with SSB Goku. Even then, the fact Goku needed help would suggest Mira is actually stronger than Super Saiyan Blue, putting him around Ultra Instinct Sign's Power Level.

5 Demigra Fights Super Saiyan Blue Vegito & Lives
Demigra is one of the main villains in Dragon Ball Xenoverse and Super Dragon Ball Heroes. Demigra and Chronoa are rivals, and Demigra's main goal is to control reality by taking over the very fabric of time itself. Demigra is stronger than most of the Z-Fighters' God forms, more than capable of fighting off Super Saiyan Blue.
Demigra is also powerful enough to hold his own against Ultra Instinct Sign Goku. In his youth, Demigra needed help just to fight Chronoa. By the time of Xenoverse and Super Dragon Ball Heroes, however, he's grown considerably stronger and becomes a major threat to the multiverse and natural order.

In her regular child form, Chonoa doesn't pack a lot of power and needs the help of Xeno Trunks and the rest of the Time Patrol to help her bring order to the timeline.
In her Time Power Unleashed form, Chronoa becomes significantly stronger than most demons, including Demigra. Alongside Super Saiyan God Xeno Trunks, Chronoa plays a major role in defeating Mechikabura during their final battle, sealing him away once and for all with her powers.
3 Mechikabura is Literally Immortal
Mechikabura is an extremely powerful demon and one of the few characters in Dragon Ball history who actually managed to wish for immortality on the Dragon Balls. Mechikabura can quite literally absorb anything, including the concept of time itself, making him a massive threat to Chronoa, the Time Patrol, and reality itself.
Dark King Mechikabura is so powerful, Super Saiyan 4 Vegito, Super Saiyan God Xeno Trunks, and Time Power Unleashed Chronoa all have to work together just to wear him down. Even then, they can't defeat him by traditional means and instead use a mix of Chronoa's Supreme Kai of Time abilities and Trunks' Key Sword to seal him away for good.
