The Scepter of the Three is a Unique 2H Mace in Diablo 4 that can drop from Andariel, one of the Greater Lair bosses in the game. Considering the rarity of Lair Keys, Greater Lair Keys, and the Scepter of the Three itself, getting a copy of this weapon from Andariel can take a painstakingly long time. Thankfully, the Horadric Cube can make things a whole lot easier. Here's a Diablo 4 trick you can use to guarantee not just a Scepter of the Three drop, but all Unique item drops for every playable class in the game.

Where to Get Scepter of the Three in Diablo 4

If you want to do things the old-fashioned way, you can farm for Scepter of the Three by beating up Andariel in Hanged Man's Hall, Kehjistan. Unlike the lesser Lair Bosses, though, you'll need a Greater Lair Key in order to open her boss chest. Greater Lair Keys mainly drop as rare loot from the Treasure Hoards of lesser Lair Bosses like Urivar, Zir, and Grigoire, and getting a single Greater Lair Key may take a while depending on how lucky you are.

The good thing about Uniques in Lord of Hatred is that you can just make your own using the Horadric Cube. If you have a Common 2H Mace and the correct Horadric reagents, you can turn that otherwise unassuming weapon into Scepter of the Three by using the Horadric Cube's Upgrade to Unique function. Since Warlocks only have one Unique 2H Mace (as of writing, at least), you will always get a Scepter of the Three every time you upgrade a Common 2H Mace.

You'll still be able to get Common items even if you're playing on high Torment tiers. Just farm War Plans or any other endgame activity, and you'll get one eventually. To further cut down on RNG, you can also gamble your Obols at any Purveyor of Curiosity and see if you can get a Common 2H Mace from there.

What Does Scepter of the Three Do?

Scepter of the Three has three special effects:

  1. It adds 15 Ranks to all of your Ultimate skills.
  2. It allows you to equip more than one Ultimate skill in your Action Bar.
  3. Every time you damage an enemy with a non-Ultimate skill, you gain bonus Ultimate skill damage until the last Ultimate skill you used expires.

To clarify: yes, the 15 Ultimate Skill Ranks provided by Scepter of the Three stacks on top of existing Skill Ranks. If you have 15/15 for Apocalypse, Scepter of the Three will bump that up to 30/15.

Unfortunately, while this weapon lets you use all of your Ultimate skills, you still won't be able to put any additional Skill Ranks into any other Ultimate skill that you haven't already invested points in. Though you can only upgrade one ult, you'll still be able to use the base versions of everything else.

Lastly, the damage boost provided by Scepter of the Three only expires when all active Ultimates have expired too. You can technically have 100% uptime on this buff if you can manage your timers properly.
