The Barbarian's line of Bleed skills in Diablo 4 received some major updates with the release of the Lord of Hatred expansion. Not only did each of the abilities receive new upgrades, but changes and new additions to Unique item effects, Paragon Boards, and legendary Aspects also provide new ways to build around Bleed and Brawl skills. This Diablo 4 build focuses on Rend and Charge, including new interactions within the game that turn these simple skills into something truly special.
Diablo 4: How To Find a Helltide Commander
In this article, we'll show you several Helltide events that guarantee a meeting with the Helltide Commander in Diablo 4.
Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred Barbarian Bleed Build
Rend is our main source of damage for this build. It inflicts a ton of Bleeding onto enemies, but since it takes a while before the Bleed effect deals its entire damage payload, some players might feel that Rend is inferior to the Barbarian's other abilities. However, when you pair this with a couple of Unique items and a bunch of other skills, it becomes incredibly powerful, strong enough to rival crit-based builds in terms of damage output and overall time-to-kill.
What makes Rend worth using in Diablo 4's endgame (particularly when it comes to Pit Pushing) is the Bloodletter's Flow Charm Set. Equipping five Charms that belong to this set gives you a 30% chance to trigger Rupture whenever you use a skill that applies Bleed. If you have the Fields of Crimson Unique 2H Sword, Rupture will consume all the Bleed you've inflicted on an enemy, essentially negating this damage-over-time effect's main drawback.
Additionally, once you get the Ring of the Ravenous and the Open Eye of Gorgorra, you'll be able to scale your Bleed infliction with your Critical Strike Chance while also making Brawling skills apply Bleeding equal to two hits of Rend. This way, you'll be charging your way through big packs of enemies, making them all Bleed along the way without having to use Rend at all.

- Flay is only used for fighting elites/bosses and generating Fury. With the Bloodletter's Flow Set Charm effect, Flay becomes a free means of triggering Rupture.
- Rend is your main source of damage, and you'll be using this along with Charge as part of the build's playstyle. If the enemy still has any health left over after being hit by Charge, hit them with Rend until their health bar turns into nothing but a ticking Bleed meter.
- Iron Skin is your main defensive skill. Use it whenever you're in a tough spot, and use the Barrier it provides to get into a more advantageous position without getting murdered by your enemies.
- Charge is your main mapping tool, and you'll be spamming this more than Rend in outside of boss fights. Thanks to Ring of the Ravenous, Charge will apply two stacks of Rend's Bleed effect against any enemy it hits, and with the Merciless Assault upgrade, you get three charges of Charge.
- Kick's main purpose is to reduce Charge's cooldown and reposition you away from sticky situations. Only use this after you've used at least one Charge stack.
- Rupture is for nuking targets who already have more Bleed stacks than health. The Rupture casts made by Bloodletter's Flow scales with Rupture's level, and all the skill's upgrades will also apply to the free casts from the Set Charm effect too. All For One causes Ancients to appear whenever Rupture is used, and they'll skewer and make your opponents Bleed as well.
Weapon Expertise
For this build, we'll be using Two-Handed Axe Expertise to boost our damage against Vulnerable enemies while increasing our Critical Strike Chance against them. Bleed is not affected by crit stats by default, but the Open Eye of Gorgorra Unique will allow us to inflict additional Bleed damage when we score a critical hit.
Set Charm
Bloodletter's Flow grants a number of Bleed-related effects as well as a nice boost to survivability. However, the most important part of this is the free Rupture casts when you hit enemies with a Bleed skill. As mentioned, the free casts are also affected by your Rupture's upgrades, and that includes the effect you get from Fields of Crimson. This is a must-have set for your Talisman, so try to get it as soon as you can.

Fields of Crimson |
Fields of Crimson and Ring of the Ravenous are the items that make this build work. Without them, you'll miss out on a ton of damage as well as the ability to make Brawling skills inflict Rend's Bleed damage. You can still use the rest of this build without them, but you won't be able to clear content as quickly.
The other Aspects and Uniques are here to buff your damage output and survivability. With this setup, you'll always be Berserking and Fortified thanks to Anger Management and Steadfast Berserker, and that doesn't even account for all the ways you can go Berserk through Paragon Nodes yet. Tuskhelm will amplify your damage even further by letting you go Berserk while you are already Berserk.
Don't forget to use the Horadric Cube to reroll your gear.

There's still room for improvement when it comes to this stat list, but this should be good enough to carry you to at least Torment 10. Don't forget to Masterwork your gear, use Runes, and slot in Skulls on weapons, Diamonds on jewelry, and Rubies on any vacant socket you may have left.

To simplify, this setup will increase the damage you deal with Damage over Time effects while giving you further bonuses against enemies who are Bleeding and Vulnerable.
- Blood Rage gives you a 10% chance to become Berserk after killing a Bleeding enemy.
- Flawless Technique grants bonus Attack Speed and Critical Strike Chance as you attack with only one weapon type.
- Hemorrhage magnifies your damage against Vulnerable targets.
- Carnage gives bonus Attack Speed while Berserking as well as a chunky multiplier to your outgoing Fire and Physical Damage.
When all of these effects are working together with your Aspects and equipment, your Toughness will reach up to 1.1M, and your individual Bleed ticks will do more damage than your actual weapon hits. As of writing, this build was able to clear a Pit 90/Torment 10 run in just under five minutes with suboptimal (but fully upgraded) Ancestral gear.
