Fans of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba looking for some new swag to represent their favorite series are in luck, as a collection of new T-shirts featuring iconic battles from the series is coming soon. Koyoharu Gotouge's dark fantasy series became an instant hit following its serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2016, and its 2019 anime adaptation and subsequent films transformed Tanjiro's story into a global phenomenon. While new Demon Slayer content has waned, the fandom remains dedicated, with new merchandise and crossovers seeming to be announced every week.

While Demon Slayer instantly became a hot topic internationally following the anime's release, its full-length theatrical films proved just how influential the series was in furthering anime's popularity worldwide. Released in 2020, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train brought in 512 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing film of the year, as well as the highest-grossing anime and Japanese film of all time. This record wouldn't last long, as 2025's Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle grossed over $700 million.

New Demon Slayer Shirts Highlight Some of the Franchise’s Most Memorable Battles

Popular character goods and apparel brand COSPA has announced a line of full-color Demon Slayer T-shirts for fans who can't get enough of the series' memorable action sequences. The three shirts include "Tanjiro & Giyu vs. Akaza," "Zenitsu vs. Kaigaku," and Shibobu vs. Doma," with each costing ¥4,950 (around $31) and coming in sizes S to XL. Preorders are currently underway on COSPA's website and at participating retailers throughout Japan, with the shirts expected to release in September 2026. Additionally, the popular shop also sells a collection of Demon Slayer stickers, keychains, tote bags, and more.

Gotouge's Demon Slayer manga came to an end in May 2020. Over 220 million copies have been sold worldwide, making it one of the best-selling manga series of all time, with sales comparable to other legendary hits like Naruto, Dragon Ball, and Case Closed. Curiously, the author was included in Time Magazine's annual list of the 100 Most Influential People in 2021, making them the first manga artist to receive the honor and proving just how far Japanese pop culture has come globally. Notably, their gender remains a mystery, as they have chosen to remain anonymous.

While it has achieved a level of global popularity that many couldn't have predicted, Demon Slayer has also been a phenomenon in its home country. In 2020, a collaborative kabuki exhibition featuring characters from the series was held in Kyoto, followed by an art exhibition at Tokyo's Mori Art Museum. From 2021 to 2022, Universal Studios Japan hosted attractions based on Tanjiro's remarkable adventures, including the "Demon Slayer XR Ride," a virtual-reality roller coaster in which guests wore VR headsets yet experienced real drops and G-forces.

While many fans would love to see Demon Slayer Season 5, this isn't in the cards. Rather than bringing the rest of the story to the small screen, those who want to see how the series ends will need to visit their local movie theaters, as Infinity Castle Part 2 will likely be released in 2027. Another movie is slated to drop in 2029, though official confirmation has yet to be given.
