The caves in Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core are brutal. One minute you are peacefully mining Expenite, and the next you are getting chased by a massive swarm with barely enough ammo to survive. This is why having better gear quickly becomes a necessity instead of a luxury, and that's where Workbenches come in.
Workbenches give you access to powerful weapons, upgrades, and abilities that can make your run much easier. However, before you can use a Workbench, you first need to track down its Toolbox hidden somewhere in the caves. Here’s how to get Toolboxes for Workbenches in Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core.
Best Tips & Tricks for Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core
Here's a collection of some of the most important things we've learned while gunning for our first win in Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core.
How to Find Toolkit for the Workbench in DRG: Rogue Core
- The first step is finding a Workbench. Every level in Rogue Core has a workbench somewhere.
However, the game’s RNG means that its location changes every run, so you may have to explore a bit before you find it. Once you finally find a Workbench, you should walk up to it and interact with the ‘Activate Toolkit Locator’ option. Doing this will reveal the Toolkit’s location on your Terrain Scanner.
Now, open your map with the Tab or M key and look for the red marker. That is where the Toolkit is hidden. The Toolkit spawn is also randomized, so its location will be different for every player and every run. It took me around three minutes to find it.
Once you find the Toolkit, all you need to do is dig it with your trusty pickaxe. After picking it up, you can go back to the Workbench and interact with it again. Your dwarf will place the Toolkit onto the Workbench, which will activate it. Once that’s done, you can start using the Workbench.
How to Use a Workbench in Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core
Once the Workbench is activated, you can interact with it to see everything it has available for your run. You can upgrade your weapons, improve your class abilities, and change your weapon if you find something better than your current one.
Workbenches can make a huge difference during tougher fights. I was able to find much stronger weapons through the Workbench in some of my runs, so it should definitely be a priority!
