These Abyss Gears can only be slotted on weapons, and they make a huge difference to the way you play. If you feel like your attacks aren't powerful enough, then you need to obtain these Abyss Gears, and we'll showcase exactly why you should do this ASAP.
Best Armor Abyss Gears in Crimson Desert
With these Abyss Gears placed onto your armor in Crimson Desert, you'll be unstoppable. Find out what they are and where to get them right here.
We've included 8 Abyss Gears on this list, as you can have 5 on a Two-Handed Weapon and 3 on each One-Handed Weapon.
Groundsurge
- Groundsurge is extracted from Melted Ambition, a sword obtained from defeating Myurdin during "Decisive Battle" in Chapter 7's Main Quest.
- Press R1+R2 (RB+RT) to shatter the ground in a frontal cone to deal damage.
Groundsurge is incredibly powerful, especially for players who rely on Turning Slash as their main method of attack, which they should be doing anyway because Turning Slash is absurdly powerful.
Groundsurge adds to this power by sending forth a frontal cone of magma that can help build stun and deal immense damage to any enemy who is in the path of the traveling explosive lava rocks.
Greysoul Howling
- Greysoul Howling is extracted from Fated Shadow, a sword obtained in the Nest of Valor Abyss after defeating Goyen during "Unwavering Steps" in Chapter 9's Main Quest.
- Press R1+R2 (RB+RT) to call forth the phantom of Goyen, unleashing a sweeping strike of shadow energy.
Greysoul Howling is essentially another free Turning Slash, and should definitely be used for that exact reason. You can go from using Greysoul Howling straight into a Turning Slash (R1+X then R1+R2), and even with just Greysoul Howling, you're dealing immense damage.
Greysoul Howling might have a momentary delay before Goyen activates his follow-up attack, but it's worth it, especially against individual targets like bosses, to help build stun and damage without using a Turning Slash for effectively the same, if not more damage.
Shadow Claw
- Shadow Claw is obtained from killing Black Fang, the Legendary Wolf, as part of the "Silence from Afar" Faction Quest in House Celeste of Hernand.
- Press R2(RT) to unleash three swipes forward, dealing additional damage.
Heavy Attacks are by far the best attack method outside of Turning Slash, and Shadow Claw is a big reason for that. Holding R2 to use x3 Heavy Attacks will build incredible damage against individual targets, especially bosses, and the stun is unparalleled.
With just three Heavy Attacks, the forward-slashing claws of Shadow Claw can deal great damage and even greater stun, far exceeding what you would be able to do without them, so we can't recommend this Abyss Gear enough.
Crow's Pursuit
- Crow's Pursuit is extracted from the Tauria Curved Sword, which is obtained from defeating Crowcaller in "Toward the Nest", a Chapter 5 Main Quest.
- Press R2(RT) to summon a murder of crows to viciously attack nearby enemies.
As if Heavy Attacks weren't already strong enough, you can now use them to summon an additional murder of crows for even more murder. Crow's Pursuit tracks enemies with an immense range, meaning you won't even have to look at an enemy for the crows to lock on and attack.
Not only is a lock-on murder of crows useful for dealing damage when you miss your Heavy Attack, but they can also help build stun and damage, which is enriched even further when combined with Shadow Claw to provide you with the best possible combo.
Hound's Claws
- Hound's Claws are extracted from Hound, a sword obtained from defeating Hemon Beindel, in Fort Hellwood, south of Hernand. This boss only appears in the "Missing Relic" Faction Quest in the Hernandian Parish of Solumen.
- Press R1+X (RB+A) to sweep the surrounding area with bloodstained claws, dealing additional damage. (Requires the Spinning Slash Skill).
Hound's Claw is another great Abyss Gear that you can willingly spam, provided you have the stamina for it. Simply by tabbing R1+X, you will slash forward to not only deal additional damage, but also to protect yourself, as the slash has a 360-degree radius instead of just what's in front of you.
Spamming Hound's Claws isn't just great for crowd-control, as its damage is noticeable too. It's great for liberating camps that are filled with overwhelming amounts of enemies, and it's also great for attacking bosses that are large enough to take the hit.
Spirit's Judgment
- Spirit's Judgment is extracted from Shackle of Might, a sword obtained by defeating Fortain, the Cursed Knight, during "The Cursed Knight" in Chapter 8 of the Main Quest.
- Press R1+Circle (RB+B) to command a spectral knight to strike down the enemy. (Requires Armed Combat Lv 2 Skill).
Spirit's Judgment can be used through Armed Combat Lv 2, and only works during a counter of an enemy's attack. Baiting an enemy and countering their easy-to-read attack will reward you with a spectral knight that will slam down on an enemy, dealing great damage, incredible stun, and even staggering them before their next attack.
By spamming Spirit's Judgment, you'll have yet another Abyss Gear that will ensure enemies, including bosses, can't move much because you're trapping them and smothering them in the might of your own powerful Abyss Gears.
Relentless
- Relentless can be extracted from the Combat God's Plate Gloves, which are obtained by defeating Muskan in the Bonepit during the "Emperor of the Bonepit" Tommaso Faction Quest in the Crimson Desert.
- Damage increases with consecutive attacks.
Relentless is where your builds will really start to shine, as the more attacks you deal while interrupted by enemies, the more damage you will deal. This essentially allows you to double, if not triple, your attacks with every swing to stack absurdly high damage.
Combined with other Abyss Gears, Relentless will heighten your power, so long as you can keep attacking without enemies impacting your rage. This is where Abyss Gears that stun enemies come in, as they will help push enemies back while you attack.
Insight III
- Insight III is crafted from any Witch after purchasing the Blueprint from Areciel, the Witch of Strength, in the Crimson Desert.
- Insight III adds Critical Rate +3 to your weapon.
Insight III is a must-have for weapons, as it will increase that weapon's Critical Rate by +3. Combined with weapons that already have a Critical Rate buff from their upgrades, you're going to be dealing double damage with almost every hit.
Double damage speaks for itself and works wonderfully against bosses and regular enemies alike to build stun, damage, and ensure that no enemy is left standing after just a few strikes.
If you're curious about the best bow Abyss Gears, you should really just be using Infinite Arrows II + Infinite Arrows III, which we have a guide for here.
