All Rapier and Shield Challenges in Crimson Desert

In Crimson Desert, there are 5 Rapier and Shield Challenges that can be triggered by collecting five Sealed Abyss Artifacts spread out across the world. All of these challenges revolve around using Damiane’s Rapier to complete combat-related tasks.

This guide covers the locations of all Sealed Abyss Artifacts for every Rapier and Shield Challenge (called Dancing Blade, Shining Shield challenges), how players can complete those challenges, and what rewards they’ll get when they do.

Found on the road southeast of the Witchwoods, directly east of the Scholastone Institute.

How to Complete Dancing Blade, Shining Shield 1 Challenge

Challenge: Defeat 5 enemies with a rapier within 60 seconds.

Find a group of five or more enemies, have Damiane wield a rapier, and defeat them. Since there are no health considerations, you can focus exclusively on offense to complete this challenge easily.

Found in the middle of the Golden Plains farms northeast of Demeniss, on a small fork in the road north of Vinewood Winery.

How to Complete Dancing Blade, Shining Shield 2 Challenge

Challenge: Stab enemies 10 times with a rapier without taking damage.

Stab refers to the Piercing Light skill (LShift + RMB on PC). Because Damiane performs multiple “stab” attacks during one Piercing Light instance, you’ll only need to perform this move four to five times against enemies without taking damage to complete this challenge.

The Aerial variant of Piercing Light also counts as a Stab.

Dancing Blade, Shining Shield 3 Artifact Location

Found by the side of the road leading south out of the Ironwood Farm toward the Steel Mountains, south of Demeniss and southeast of Hernand.

How to Complete Dancing Blade, Shining Shield 3 Challenge

Challenge: Hit a prone enemy 5 times with a rapier.

“Prone” enemy refers to when you knock someone to the ground. The easiest way to make enemies prone is by performing grappling moves like Leg Sweep (Unarmed Combat Lv 1) or Lariat (Grappling Lv 2). Once the enemy is on the ground, walk up to them and attack them using your rapier to complete the challenge.

Found just east of the Three Brothers’ Cliff on the road that goes north out of Fort Windridge, just off the southern coast of the map, southwest of Dewhaven.

How to Complete Dancing Blade, Shining Shield 4 Challenge

Challenge: Defeat 3 enemies at once from over 10 meters away with a rapier.

Max out Damiane’s Smiting Bolt skill, find a large group of enemies, and use Smiting Bolt repeatedly from afar until you complete this challenge. The goal is to get 3 enemies to group together, which is easier when you’re attacking a heavily populated area like occupied bandit territories.

Found northeast of Demeniss, near the Spire of Clockwork in the Breezeblown Knoll area, right next to the Abyss Nexus nearby.

How to Complete Dancing Blade, Shining Shield 5 Challenge

Challenge: Hit 9 enemies within 15 seconds using Shield Toss.

Invest two Artifacts to get Shield Toss to level 3, which will make it so your thrown shield bounces off of seven enemies before returning. Then, find a large group of enemies and start spamming Shield Toss. The crucial point here is that there needs to be 9 “different” enemies; cornering a small group and tossing your shield at them over and over won’t work.
