Chainsaw Man Volume 24 finally released in Japan, compiling the Part 2 manga's last ten chapters into one final release. The volume was set to have 12 extra pages, which many fans hoped would either be an epilogue to the series, or official confirmation that Chainsaw Man Part 3 was coming. Unfortunately, the volume came and went with little more than a slightly revised ending.
Hope is not lost for Chainsaw Man Part 3, however. The official Japanese Chainsaw Man Twitter account announced on X earlier today that the series will reveal a brand-new project that could very well be Chainsaw Man Part 3. MAPPA will also be sharing new information on the Chainsaw Man – Assassins Arc anime, which will pick up the story right where Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc left off.
The Chainsaw Man Ending is This Generation’s Neon Genesis Evangelion
Chainsaw Man's manga ending has a lot in common with Neon Genesis Evangelion Episodes 25 & 26, and it's all for the better.
There's Officially Hope For Chainsaw Man Part 3
All hope seemed lost for Chainsaw Man Part 3 after Volume 24's release, but all that might change on June 19, 2026. According to @CHAINSAWMAN_PR, new information about Chainsaw Man's future will be revealed in MAPPA's 15th Anniversary Lineup Announcement Event. While the focus will be the studio's upcoming adaptation of Chainsaw Man's International Assassins arc, a new project is being teased, as well.
This new project could be anything from a new movie, a video game, an official spin-off, or even merchandise – it could also be Chainsaw Man Part 3. Chainsaw Man Part 2's ending has a lot going for it thematically, but left several storylines and character arcs more or less unresolved. There are still plenty of mysteries in the Chainsaw Man universe worth exploring. Chainsaw Man Part 3 also doesn't have to come in the form of a manga necessarily. With MAPPA making the announcement, Chainsaw Man Part 3 could very well be an anime, movie, or OVA epilogue to Part 2, offering fans a cleaner resolution to the storyline than Tatsuki Fujimoto could offer.
Chainsaw Man Season 2 is Getting an Update On June 19, 2026
Along with the announcement of the new Chainsaw Man project, MAPPA will be revealing brand-new information about Chainsaw Man – Assassins Arc, the second season of the anime. Although titled after only the International Assassins arc, Chainsaw Man Season 2 is expected to adapt the rest of Part 1, assuming the season is 12 episodes long, just like Season 1. 12 episodes is too much for just the International Assassins arc, but just enough to run through the rest of Part 1.
Chainsaw Man Season 1 adapted the first 38 chapters of the manga, with the movie adapting chapters 39–52 of the Bomb Girl arc. There are only 44 chapters left in Chainsaw Man Part 2, more than enough story to fit into 12 well-paced episodes. Alternatively, it's possible Chainsaw Man Season 2 will only adapt the story up to Chapter 79, leaving the final 18 chapters for an action-packed movie ala Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc.
Demon Slayer Dethrones Chainsaw Man as The Official Best Anime Movie of 2025
Crunchyroll has officially crowned Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle as Film of the Year, beating out its biggest rival, Chainsaw Man – The Movie.
If all goes well, MAPPA will not only announce a release date for Chainsaw Man – Assassins Arc, but also a full episode count. New information will be revealed in MAPPA's 15th Anniversary Lineup Announcement Event livestream on June 19, 2026 at 8 PM JT, which'll be 7 AM ET for those watching in the United States.
