Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is officially set to begin its new arc as confirmed by the official Naruto website, naruto-official.com, on May 15, 2026, in a new post. The post-Mamushi events are now being covered, and it is clear that the new arc is now set to focus on Shinju Hidari, who is the clone of Sasuke Uchiha. As such, the new arc of Boruto that will begin in V-Jump Issue #7 is sure to shed a lot of light on the character of Sasuke Uchiha and we're excited to finally see Ikemoto set up his return at the end of it.

Following the fall of Hidari, when Sasuke returns, he isn't going to return as weak as he was. Instead, Sasuke will come back far stronger than ever before, and he already has two major power-ups lined up for him, one set up in chapter 3 of Two Blue Vortex, and the other set up officially in chapter 29 of the manga.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 34 Will Begin The Arc To Bring Sasuke Uchiha Back

Boruto Two Blue Vortex Chapter 34 Sasuke Uchiha Back

On May 15, 2026, the official Naruto website revealed a sneak peek of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 34. This sneak peek confirmed to us that the Mamushi arc has wrapped up, as Sarada Uchiha and all the other shinobi who were involved in the major battle that unfolded in Konoha are now recovering. While the shinobi are recovering, they have no breathing space because Shinju Hidari and Jura will soon be on the move.

Based on the number of villains that are currently lined up, we already know that these two characters are going to be central to the next arc of the Boruto series, and a lot of the focus will be on Hidari specifically. Given that Hidari is the weaker of the two villains, he is likely to be the next character for Sarada Uchiha and the remainder of Konoha shinobi to fight. This aligns perfectly with Ikemoto giving Sarada Uchiha and her Mangekyo Sharingan a lot of focus, as we witnessed in Two Blue Vortex Chapter 34's sneak peek.

“Something is going on. Something that only you and Sarada can deal with. That's what my gut is telling me, and that's why I mentored you.” — Sasuke Uchiha to Boruto Uzumaki in Two Blue Vortex Chapter 3

With Hidari being central to the new Boruto Arc, it goes without saying that Sasuke Uchiha's return is already being set up. The story already confirmed that Hidari's Thorn Soul Bulb is needed to free him, and to acquire the Thorn Soul bulb, he must first be beaten. With Hidari as the main villain of the new arc, the opportunity to claim his Thorn Soul Bulb exists. Once the Konoha Shinobi get their hands on it, Sasuke can officially be freed from his Tree, and return for the very first time in three long years, during which all of us have missed him and felt his absence, with some even losing interest in the story. As such, the new arc of the Boruto series is going to be all about bringing Sasuke back, and this means the likes of Sarada Uchiha and Boruto Uzumaki will play a very important role.

Why Sasuke Uchiha Will Return With Two Major Buffs After The Hidari Arc

Sasuke Uchiha Return Buffs new sword boruto

Sasuke Uchiha's return is inevitable in the Boruto series. It's more a question of when, not if, he will return. Given that Mamushi has now officially fallen, only two Shinju remain, which means Hidari is going to be the next in line to fall, which is officially set to result in Sasuke coming back. Interestingly enough, when Sasuke comes back, he's not going to return as he was at the end of Boruto Part 1. After his Rinnegan was stabbed by Momoshiki, Sasuke lost a tremendous amount of his overall firepower. But when he comes back, he's going to be stronger than ever before, as officially confirmed in Two Blue Vortex Chapter 3 as well as Chapter 29.

“The blade has been reshaped from its original material to a form that maximizes its strength. That's not all, your Uchiha-style Kenjutsu Hagoromo will be maintained on its own once you grip the hilt.” — Sumire to Boruto Uzumaki, Two Blue Vortex Chapter 28

Boruto Two Blue Vortex Chapter 3 confirmed to us readers that Sasuke Uchiha trained his overall powers relentlessly during the timeskip. In fact, he grew in strength to such a degree that he was able to take one of Code’s eyes from him, despite the latter being stronger than even Jigen at the time. For Sasuke to accomplish that without even having his Rinnegan officially confirms that he has grown tremendously in power overall. This was also backed by the Boruto data book. This is only one of the two buffs that he will showcase after his return.

The second Sasuke buff was confirmed to us in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 28, which was released officially on November 19, 2025, and published later in V-Jump Issue #1 of 2026. In this chapter, we saw Sasuke's beloved Kusanagi Sword officially being turned into a katana by none other than Sumire. Its cutting qualities have been improved dramatically, and a new ability has now been added, but it remains unknown for now. The blade is currently being wielded by Boruto Uzumaki, but Sumire officially confirmed that she had registered Sasuke's chakra signature with the blade, meaning that once he comes back, he can utilize it once more. As such, Sasuke's two major power-ups will see him become incredibly strong following his return in Two Blue Vortex after the Hidari arc.

All Powers And Abilities Of Sasuke After Boruto's Three-Year Time Skip

Powers Abilities Sasuke After Boruto Time Skip

Undoubtedly, Sasuke Uchiha is one of the most powerful ninjas in the world right now. Even after the three-year time-skip, Sasuke has largely retained the vast majority of his strength. Despite losing the power of Rinnegan, he still has his Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, with which he can utilize the power of Amaterasu as well as Kagutsuchi. Sasuke can also use Full-Body Susanoo. He is also known to be a user of all five Nature Transformations by adulthood, and these are going to be of massive help in the fights in the future.

“Forgive me, Boruto. Stopping Momoshiki’s rampage was my responsibility as your teacher, but I couldn't be there for you when you needed me. The village doesn't need to hate anyone else besides me.” — Sasuke Uchiha, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter 69

Added to that is the overall strength buff that he received in the three-year timeskip, along with any new power that he got, and his new sword. All this would serve to make him even stronger following his return. Sasuke's overall power level should be more than enough to see him fight against the threat of legendary individuals such as the Shinju or the Otsutsuki. It makes sense for him to be stronger than ever before in Two Blue Vortex once he comes back, and this is also something that will push the overall popularity of the Boruto manga through the roof.

Having already waited for so long, all we need to do now is wait for the new arc to unfold. This new arc is likely to last anywhere between 8 and 15 chapters, based on the lengths of the previous arcs, and at the end of it, Sasuke Uchiha should officially have returned to the plot, once again playing an important role in defending Konoha and all those whom he loves. More importantly, Sasuke will fill the hearts of all of us Naruto fans with hope.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex’s New Arc is set to officially begin on May 20, 2026, in Shueisha's V-Jump Issue #7. The New chapters will be available to read via Viz Media, and Manga Plus.
