Boruto: Two Blue Vortex continues with great intensity, and the recent chapter 33 of the manga wrapped up the events of the Mamushi arc for good. Now, Boruto is looking to start a brand new arc, but the conclusion of the latest arc has delivered an update on the fate of Naruto Uzumaki after a while. With no Shinju apart from Mamushi making an appearance in the arc, it has now been confirmed that Sasuke will not return anytime soon, which pushes the return of the Seventh Hokage even further beyond 2026. This means fans will have to endure even longer to see their beloved legendary ninja every time.

Naruto Uzumaki's Current Status In Daikokuten Dimension

As things stand, Naruto Uzumaki is sealed in the dimension of Daikokuten. This rather surprising turn of events took place at the end of the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga, where Kawaki decided to seal him for his own good. In an attempt to eliminate all the Otsutsuki, as well as Boruto Uzumaki, he deemed it necessary to seal Naruto and Hinata away. It must be noted that, inside the dimension of Daikokuten, time doesn't flow, meaning Naruto Uzumaki has not aged a single day and preserves all his strength as well as abilities.

However, he has been cut out of the series for about three years now, which means a lot will have changed when he returns. As far as the current era goes, Naruto's return requires Boruto Uzumaki to fight Kawaki, and it doesn't seem like that is going to happen any time soon.

How The Mamushi Arc Delays The Seventh Hokage's Comeback In Two Blue Vortex

Mamushi Arc Delays naruto Comeback boruto Two Blue Vortex Image by Viz Media

The Mamushi arc was significant for the Boruto series because it opened up a possibility for Naruto Uzumaki's brief return. When Mamushi attacked Konoha, his threat did not seem significant enough, and a very popular idea at the time was that Jura and Hidari would join in battle. If that were to happen, then Jura, who knows Naruto's location, could potentially have tried to force a way into the Daikokuten dimension and free Naruto to question him about things such as love, which is what he wanted.

Unfortunately, Jura and Hidari did not make any appearance in this arc. Mamushi has now successfully been dealt with, as was clearly indicated in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 33, and the next arc will see Jura and Hidari make their move. As their move has been delayed significantly, it is unlikely for Naruto Uzumaki to even make an appearance in the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga this year.

Breaking Down The Timeframe For The Return Of The Child of Prophecy

naruto uzumaki return date boruto

As far as the return of Naruto Uzumaki goes, it is highly unlikely to happen in 2026, but sooner or later it has to come. The first character to return is going to be Sasuke Uchiha, based on the current turn of events. Sasuke's return will require the Konoha ninjas to claim the Thorn Soul Bulb from Hidari, and now that Mamushi has fallen, Hidari is likely the next Shinju to fall in the upcoming arc. In that sense, Sasuke's return at the end of the next Boruto arc is imminent.

Once Sasuke returns in late 2026, it is highly likely that Naruto's return will follow in 2027. This could be forced either by Shinju Jura or, perhaps, the battle between Boruto and Kawaki, which has long been teased in this story, will finally happen. In either case, the Seventh Hokage and the Child of Prophecy looks likely to stay in the dimension of Daikokuten for even longer, but with each passing chapter, a return gets even closer.
