Boruto: Two Blue Vortex is the sequel manga to Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, written by Mikio Ikemoto and supervised by Masashi Kishimoto. The Two Blue Vortex sequel manga began three years ago on August 20, 2023, and has continued strong since, with the manga getting more releases every month in V Jump.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has only been hitting higher heights with more exciting developments to follow in the months to come. The manga is evidently flourishing, but the anime sequel series is nowhere to be seen. The Boruto anime went on hiatus 3 years ago and has not returned ever since. However, with the most recent Two Blue Vortex arc, it can now be said that the series quality has improved enough to see it get its own anime adaptation and boost its global popularity even further.

Boruto's Latest Mamushi Arc Shows The Quality Of The Series Is Only Getting Better, Making Anime Return A Possibility

Boruto Mamushi Arc Anime Return

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has been thrilling right from the get-go. The series has been delivering one intense battle after another and setting up interesting lore by expanding upon the Otsutsuki clan from the Naruto series and creating its own lore with characters like the Shinju. The most recent Boruto arc in the Two Blue Vortex manga was the Mamushi arc, which saw Shinju Mamushi attack Konoha with the aim of getting to Eida and consuming her. This arc delivered intense action to the fans, despite Mamushi being a villain that not many fans cared about.

I have to do it. I just steeled myself to do what's needed! — Inojin Yamanaka, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 33

It involved Boruto Uzumaki, Sarada Uchiha, Mitsuki, Himawari, and, above all, even gave attention to side characters like Inojin Yamanaka. An arc that was previously considered to be unimpressive at the beginning ended up becoming one of its very best. The conclusion of it saw Inojin Yamanaka step up, despite being nowhere near as strong as Mamushi, and make the huge sacrifice by giving up his eyes to stop him for good, showing all fans why he was a Shinobi to begin with. Clearly, the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga is raising the stakes as well as intensity with each passing chapter, and arcs like these deserve to get their own anime adaptation.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Has Enough Chapters For An Anime Return

Boruto Two Blue Vortex Chapters Anime Return

The quality of the Boruto series aside, one of the biggest reasons why the anime went on hiatus was because of an unprecedented amount of filler, which made many fans lose interest. On the flip side, however, if filler was not aired, then the anime would have caught up to the manga way too early. This problem has officially been solved with Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. Right now, the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga has 33 chapters, which should make for two incredibly exciting seasons, or potentially even more if anime original content is added to expand upon the various arcs.

This means that the Boruto series no longer has the same issues that it faced in the past. Whenever the Boruto series does go on to return, it is highly likely that the issues surrounding pacing, filler, and catching up to the manga will no longer hinder it. In that sense, this is the perfect opportunity to announce a return for the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex series.

Assessing The Possibility Of A Potential Boruto Return In 2027

Possibility Potential Boruto Return 2027

Boruto is produced by Studio Pierrot, and when it does make its comeback, the same studio will handle this anime once again. In order for the studio to do justice to Boruto, they must have some time at their hands. At the moment, Studio Pierrot is already busy with Bleach and Black Clover, both of which are incredibly massive hits for it. This means that while Boruto is exciting, it has to take the backseat for the time being. If fans truly want a stellar product to be delivered, then proper time needs to be attributed to the Boruto anime, and only then can a phenomenal project be delivered.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex will not be adapted into an anime before 2027. With proper time allocated to it, this anime will hold the potential to be one of the most successful series in the modern era, with some of the best battles and interesting antagonists. Fans may need to be more patient, but the wait is certainly going to be worth it, especially after the latest developments featured in the manga and the setup for what's to come in the upcoming arcs.

The latest chapter of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex will be available to read on Manga Plus on May 20, 2026.
