How to Clear the Purple Mist in Blasphemous 2

After reaching the Castle of the Mist and starting the DLC, players will be able to explore the multiple new areas the free expansion has to offer. During exploration, you will come across certain rooms covered in a Purple Mist where blue needles constantly fly toward you. If five needles gather around your character, they will deal damage and respawn you a short distance away, similar to how spiked traps function.

While these hazards are usually manageable, they can sometimes make entire rooms inaccessible or prevent progression. Thankfully, there is an easy way to remove the mist permanently in Blasphemous 2.

How to Clear the Purple Mist in Blasphemous 2

The first step toward removing the Purple Mist is obtaining the new DLC weapon, Embrujo. This weapon can be found to the west of the Prie Dieu in Geometry of Knowledge. Once acquired, you'll gain the ability to use R1/RB on your controller near specific hooks, allowing you to grapple through many of the areas introduced in the DLC.

With Embrujo in your possession, make your way to the Prie Dieu located roughly in the middle of Stone Entrails.

From here, follow the route below:

From the shrine, head right, climb down the ladder, and enter the room on the right.
Drop down and enter the room on your left. Ignore the winged creatures that descend from the ceiling and continue down the ladder.
You'll spot a mini-boss version of the first DLC boss in this area. Fortunately, you can completely ignore the encounter and continue onward.
In the middle of the room is another ladder leading down into an area covered by Purple Mist. Dash through the gap on the left and climb down the second ladder.
Drop down on the left side, descend the next ladder, then quickly dash left and use your grapple ability twice with R1/RB.
Enter the room on your left. Inside, you'll find numerous coffins along with a figure resting inside an open coffin.
Attack the figure to trigger a dialogue sequence.

After the conversation ends, the Purple Mist throughout the DLC will disappear permanently, allowing you to freely access previously blocked rooms and continue exploring the rest of The Third Sin expansion without worrying about the blue needle mechanic.
