Black Clover by Yuki Tabata isn’t the Shonen juggernaut that it once was, and in big part, this is due to the series having gone on various hiatuses over the years, as well as the pace of the story slowing down with a switch to a seasonal magazine. Despite everything, Yuki Tabata was able to conclude his story after years of slow serialization on April 30, 2026, with the release of Black Clover Chapter 392.

In the last chapter of Black Clover, the story’s ending felt unsatisfying to many. Now, after a month of silence concerning any possible new content, it has finally been confirmed that Black Clover is officially returning with one more chapter in the upcoming Black Clover guidebook in August. This is an exciting announcement that will now deliver a new ending to the story of Black Clover and expand upon various plot points.

Black Clover is a phenomenal manga series by Yuki Tabata which started its serialization in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump on February 16, 2015. Until August 2023, the series was serialized in Jump, but eventually, it moved to Jump GIGA on December 25, 2023. Black Clover went on to continue in the seasonal magazine, before finally concluding its long run on May 1, 2026.

Black Clover Chapter 392 was certainly exciting and delivered a decent conclusion to the story, but many fans feel dissatisfied with the conclusion of various plot points. Thankfully, Black Clover's upcoming guidebook release is fixing the ending once and for all. Big Shonen series in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump often drop new content with their final volumes, as was seen with other series like Jujutsu Kaisen and My Hero Academia. Black Clover is no different in that regard. Shueisha has now officially confirmed that new content is on the way alongside the final volume. Black Clover Volume 38 will go on sale in Japan on August 4, 2026, and with it will be a new official guidebook for the series. The guidebook itself will contain exciting new information on various characters, arcs, plotlines, and more. More than anything, it has been confirmed that a new, 15-page chapter by Yuki Tabata will be included in this guidebook. Fans will have to purchase the guidebook separately from the volume to be able to uncover the true final ending of Black Clover.

New Final Chapter by Yuki Tabata To Tie Together Loose Ends

It’s no secret that Black Clover fans didn’t like the ending that Yuki Tabata offered in the last chapter. While the big question concerning the new holder of the position of Wizard King was answered, with Asta ascending to the position after defeating Yuno, there was still a significant portion that was ignored, or just glossed over.

For one, Tabata left the romantic ending of Asta completely unresolved, which disappointed many fans, especially after having waited years for it. In the end, he kept it vague with both Noelle and Mimosa fighting to conquer Asta’s heart. This new chapter could finally reveal the result of their battle and finally fix Asta’s romantic conclusion. My Hero Academia’s Horikoshi went a similar route and only confirmed Deku and Ochaco as a couple in the bonus chapter.

The upcoming bonus chapter on August 4, 2026, could also expand on the world of Black Clover after the final battle, which was set up to change in significant ways, especially when it came to the inclusion of other races like the elves, or the dismantlement of some of the elites’ privileges. Black Clover chapter 392 only offered a glimpse of this new order and didn’t explore the topic adequately. More than anything, fans would love to see Asta and Yuno fight side by side again as adults with their new titles. All this and more could be addressed in the final chapter of Black Clover when it drops on August 4, 2026.
