The Power Rangers have faced some truly formidable foes over the years. While many of those villains are attempting to destroy the galaxy, they often employ the use of their own Rangers. Many of these evil Rangers eventually turn to the light, but that simply isn't always the case. Certain evil forces, like the Psycho Rangers, exist only to end their respective corresponding color.
Since the very Mighty Morphin beginning, evil Power Rangers have been an integral part of the Power Rangers mythos. Not every iteration has an evil Ranger, but those that do are widely better for it. Certain evil Rangers are either more powerful or much better written than others. Not every evil Ranger is created equal, especially when they are such a series staple.
10 The Cybervillains Are One of the Few Villains to Remain Bad
Power Rangers: Beast Morphers
When the original Red and Yellow Rangers were incapacitated by Evox, villainous counterparts were created in their place. Instead of being a force for good like their originals, the copies served Evox as the Beast Morpher's secondary antagonist. Cybervillain Blaze is capable of taking out the Beast Morphers' Rangers with a single attack, while Roxy receives several potent upgrades throughout the series.
Power Rangers: 10 Best Black Rangers, Ranked
The Black Rangers typically serve as the Red Rangers' second-in-command and are often one of the most popular rangers of any given series.
When the Cybervillains physical bodies are destroyed, they come back even stronger as robots. They might not be their originals, but they share all their thoughts and memories, giving them access to some truly frightening intel. Thankfully, the Beast Morphers Power Rangers managed to win the day, despite the Cybervillains never turning to the side of good.
9 The Jungle Fury Spirit Rangers Become one of the Jungle Fury Rangers' Greatest Allies
Power Rangers: Jungle Fury
The Jungle Fury Spirit Rangers were originally a creation of the Phantom Beasts to defeat the Jungle Fury Rangers, but became some of their greatest allies. Each of the Spirit Rangers is based on a notable Pai Zhuq master of the past and has access to their impressive powers. Once the former masters train the Jungle Fury Rangers, they overcome the Spirit Rangers and take their power for themselves.
Best Power Rangers Series, Ranked
From the Mighty Morphin to Ninjas and Samurai, the best Power Rangers seasons offer great mecha action and awesome characters,
After the Jungle Fury Rangers free the Spirit Rangers from Dai Shi control, the Spirit Rangers regularly fight alongside them. Among them is one of the only specifically light-blue Rangers in existence. Although this doesn't present any particular powers, it is an interesting distinction nonetheless. Ultimately, the Spirit Rangers start as one of the Jungle Fury Rangers' biggest threats, but are integral to helping them reach their full potential.
8 The A-Squad Rangers Completely Betray the Entire S.P.D Organization
Power Rangers: S.P.D.
Throughout the majority of Power Rangers S.P.D. the A-Squad Rangers are touted as the best in the business. Anubis Cruger regularly compares the protagonists to the A-Squad, until their secret is revealed. Eventually, the A-Squad is outed as traitors and attempt to destroy the S.P.D. once and for all. They probably would have succeeded if not for the B-Squad team.
Each member of the A-Squad Rangers is expertly trained and one of the best candidates the S.P.D. has to offer. They may have turned to evil, but that doesn't mean they lost their impressive abilities. What they lack in moral fiber, they make up for in cunning and impressive combat technique. Thankfully, the B-Squad prevents them from doing any major damage.
7 The Psycho Rangers Are Obsessed With Destroying Their Specific Counterpart
Power Rangers: In Space
The Psycho Rangers are an artificially created Ranger team made solely to weaken Dark Specter and destroy the Power Rangers. The Psycho Rangers' only mission is to end their specific color Ranger, once and for all. Surprisingly, one of the Psycho Rangers succeeds and is the only villain in the entire series, save Robo Rita, to actually end a life. Kendrix is forced to sacrifice her life to undo the almost irreversible damage done by Psycho Pink and the savage saber.
Each of the Pyscho Rangers is created specifically to fight their respective Ranger. This makes them extremely formidable opponents, and they likely would've won several times if not been recalled by Astronema. They are also one of the only evil Power Rangers' groups to cause not one, but two iterations of the Power Rangers difficulty.
6 The Void Knight Is Actually Amelia Jones' Father
Power Rangers: Dino Fury
Tarrick, or the Void Knight, is Amelia Jones' Father and the original Dino Fury antagonist. He eventually turns to the side of good once he realizes that his long-lost daughter is the Power Ranger he's been fighting this entire time. Tarrick's story might not be unique for the franchise, but it is handled extremely well. Moreover, as the series' first antagonist, he is nothing if not formidable in battle.
Tarrick eventually leads an underground resistance against Lord Zedd after he is released in the events of Cosmic Fury. The Void Knight is easily one of the most gifted combatants in Modern Power Rangers and nearly brings the team to their knees many times. If Amelia wasn't his daughter, its very likely he would've ended the Rangers once and for all.
5 The Thunder Rangers Are Some of the Strongest Brothers In Power Rangers in History
Power Rangers: Ninja Storm
The Thunder Rangers are from the sister school to the Wind Ninja Storm Rangers. Originally, Lothor lies to them and explains that the Power Rangers were responsible for the brothers' parents' deaths. Once the Power Rangers easily prove this isn't the case, Hunter and Blake turn to the side of good and become the final members of the Ninja Storm team.
Like Cam Watanabe, the Thunder Rangers have access to similar powers to the Wind Ninja's, but their skills are decidedly unique. Unfortunately, Hunter and Blake fare way worse as part of the team than when they were fighting it. This is not ucommon for sixth or alternate evil Rangers, but Hunter and Blake are some of the best examples.
4 Ryan Mitchell Has the Power to Teleport, Giving Him a Clear Advantage in Battle
Power Rangers: Lightspeed Rescue
Ryan Mitchell is one of the strongest Power Rangers in existence based solely on his ability to teleport. Powers un-included, he is skilled enough to take on the entire Time Force team without a weapon. This means Mitchell bested Carter Greyson, Chad Lee, and Carter Greyson alone and lived to tell the tale.
As the Titanium Ranger, Mitchell is one of the most popular Power Rangers characters in existence. He is also one of the only Power Rangers who doesn't have a Super Sentai counterpart. This means that he has significantly less footage than other Rangers, but it also means that his fights were on a much greater spectacle than fans were used to.
3 Trent Fernandez-Mercer Has Some Impressive Powers, Even When Unmorphed
Power Rangers: Dino Thunder
Trent Fernandez-Mercer has access to some of the most impressive Powers out of any Power Ranger in history. He can camouflage, teleport, and has access to literal super speed. It's no wonder that Mercer was able to hold the entire Dino Thunder team, including the impressive Tommy Oliver.
9 Strongest White Rangers In Power Rangers
These are the strongest characters ever to earn the title of White Ranger, granting them powerful abilities and making them formidable Power Rangers.
On top of his already impressive powers, Trent can access Super Dino Mode along with the other Dino Thunder Rangers, but his design is decidedly unique. He also makes appearances in the Legendary battle as well as Mighty Morphin Once and Always. He is also one of the most popular Rangers from the original Disney-era of the franchise.
2 Leanbow Is One of the Strongest Swordsman in Power Rangers' History
Power Rangers: Mystic Force
Leanbow is hands down one of the most gifted swordsmen in the entire franchise. He also spends a majority of his time as the evil knight Koragg. He only comes to his senses after discovering that Nick Russell is actually his long-lost son. This might sound extremely similar to the Void Knight, but technically Leanbow came first.
10 Best Red Power Rangers, Ranked
The Red Rangers are usually the strongest and most capable members of every Power Rangers team, but that isn't always the case.
When it comes to combat abilities, Leanbow is simply unmatched. He nearly defeats the Mystic Force Rangers time and time again, which are often only saved by Udonna. If not for Nick Russell, Leanbow probably never would've returned to the light and Octomus would've truly won the day. Thankfully, parental instincts are apparently stronger than evil magic.
1 Tommy Oliver Is the Greatest Power Ranger of All Time
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
Tommy Oliver is the greatest Power Ranger of all time, but he begins as one of the biggest threats the Rangers have to face. As the Green Ranger, Tommy regularly pushed the Mighty Morphin Rangers to their limit. His battle with Jason Lee Scott remains one of the greatest in the entire franchise. Once he came to his senses, he quickly became the greatest Ranger in the history of the franchise.
No one has had a longer and more impressive tenure than Tommy Olvier. He has served on the most teams and been the most color of Ranger out of anyone in the entire franchise. There are certainly stronger combatants, but he is the all around greatest Ranger of all time and is even considered the de facto leader from time to time.
