Koei Tecmo appeared at Summer Game Fest 2026 to officially reveal Attack on Titan 3, a brand-new AoT video game that will retell the anime's entire story. Attack on Titan 3 was one of the more unexpected announcements at Summer Game Fest 2026.
The AoT console video game series started in 2016 with the Omega Force-developed Attack on Titan. It earned mixed reviews, but did get praise for successfully adapting the concept to video game form. Attack on Titan 2 came a few years later and was better received, even adding a co-op mode.

Attack on Titan 3 Trailer
Attack on Titan fans have been waiting ages for Attack on Titan 3, and now it's finally been announced. Attack on Titan 3 was revealed at Summer Game Fest 2026 with an explosive trailer that confirmed the game will be retelling all four seasons of the wildly popular anime. This means story beats from the previous two games will be revisited, but it will still be nice to have the entire story accessible in video game form. More information on Attack on Titan 3 will be revealed via a "Scouting Report" presentation that will be released on July 1.

The Attack on Titan 3 trailer showcased various iconic moments from the anime, including some of its more exciting fights. The art style seems to stick close to what was established by the previous games, but it's definitely an upgrade. Overall, it looks like it will be a solid Attack on Titan release and should help fill the void left by the anime since it ended a few years back.
More specific details on Attack on Titan 3 are hard to come by at the time of this writing, but we do know that the game will feature new story content not seen in the anime or manga. What we don't know is if Attack on Titan 3 will retain the co-op feature that was present in its predecessor, but more information on that front should come to light sooner rather than later. After all, Attack on Titan 3's July 1 presentation is right around the corner and should reveal plenty more about the upcoming PC, PS5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S game.
Those hungry for Attack on Titan video game experiences can check out the first two games in the meantime, plus the various other AoT gaming projects that have been released. Besides the home console games, an Attack on Titan 3DS game was released back in 2015, and there is an Attack on Titan VR game readily available as well. The Attack on Titan VR game actually has a budget price of $7.99, so if you have a VR headset lying around, it may be worth a look.
