Glyphs are one of the three main collectibles players will find while playing Aphelion. You'll find eight Glyphs while playing Ariane, each one giving players more insight into Persephone and Ariane's observations of it. Collecting them all will reward players with the Expert Glaciologist achievement.
To help you earn this achievement and discover all of the lore in Aphelion, we'll walk you through the exact location of all eight Glyphs. Since each one is tied to a specific Secondary Marker, we recommend collecting those at the same time.

How to Find Glyphs in Aphelion
Players will find Glyphs on or around Ice Formations while playing Aphelion. To check Ice Formations for Glyphs, you'll need to turn on your EM Scanner and change the frequency.
An Ice Formation with a Glyph will have an orb appear when you adjust your frequency to the right level. When the frequency is spot on, you'll see an icon appear telling you which button to hold. Hold the button down to get the Glyph.

Aphelion Glyph Location Guide
There are 8 Glyphs for players to discover in Aphelion. We've listed these Glyphs in the order of when you'll encounter them in-game. Collecting them all will grant you the Expert Glaciologist achievement.
- Chapter: "The Pulse"
Players will start the second chapter of Aphelion inside an icy cave. After entering the cave, you'll use your Pathfinder to scan the cave for an exit. After doing so, aim the Pathfinder on the right side of the cave to see the Ice Formation near the cave's entrance. Examining this with the EM Scanner will reveal the first Glyph in the game.
- Chapter: "The Onyx Forest"
After completing the first part of Chapter 4, you'll leave the cave behind and return to the surface. While using the Pathfinder to scout out the area, you'll want to aim it at the lower left ledges in front of you to find an Ice Formation Secondary Marker.
After noting down the location of this Ice Formation, follow the path to the right. Continue on this path until you can jump onto a ledge to the path's left. There will be a wall you can climb down to get to the Ice Formation and the Glyph it contains.
- Chapter: "The Onyx Forest"
After escaping from Nemesis for the second time, you'll exit a cave and enter a foggy area with geysers. Continue down the path until you reach a fork in the road with a path to the left, one to the right, and one straight in front. The path on the left will lead to a ledge with a machine on it, while the straight path will take you closer to the main objective.
Taking the path on the right will lead you to a small jumping puzzle with two geysers. Hop to the other side while avoiding the Geysers to find the second Ice Formation in this chapter. Scan it with the correct frequency to find a Glyph.
- Chapter: "The Outpost"
After completing the Annex, you'll need to return to the main laboratory. To do so, you'll hop across a gap to the clearing containing the Ice Formation. This will also cause Nemesis to spawn.
The Glyph in this area is at the base of the Ice Formation. We found it pretty easy to activate the Glyph before dealing with Nemesis during our playthrough. However, if Nemesis is posing a problem, activating the Decoy Anomaly on the right side of the clearing should give you enough time to get the Glyph.
- Chapter: "The Storm"
Players will find this Glyph near the start of the Equatorial Storm in Chapter 7. When you first enter the storm, there will be three rocks to hide behind. The third rock will be to the right of a patch of ice.
Carefully walk across this patch of ice to reach an Ice Formation. There will be a rock here that shelters you from the storm, so you won't need to worry about freezing to death. Adjust the frequency of your EM scanner and activate the anomaly in the Ice Formation to obtain this Glyph.
- Chapter: "The Storm"
Players will have to escape from the Nemesis Arena in Chapter 7. After doing so, they will climb up a cave in hopes of reaching the surface. There will be an Ice Formation Secondary Marker in this cave.
Climbing up the cave will take you to a path directly behind this Ice Formation. Adjust the frequency of your EM Scanner to match that of the Ice Formation, then activate it to acquire a new Glyph.
- Chapter: "The Styx"
Toward the start of Chapter 10, players will watch a mirage of Thomas cross a narrow bridge. When you climb the wall at the end of this bridge, climb as far up as possible and move to the right to get on a high ledge.
Walking across this ledge will lead you to an anomaly. Clear it and use the crystal that appears to swing to the other side. There will be a gap in the wall on your left that leads to a hidden room containing an Ice Formation.
You'll need to reach the room's floor to become close enough to activate the Glyph. When you're done, you can take the path on the left to return to the main cave.
- Chapter: "The Styx"
The final Glyph in Aphelion is found in the second Ice Formation in Chapter 10. While it initially looks as if you cannot reach this structure, there is actually a direct path there.
You'll first be able to view this Ice Formation on a lower part of the path. This will be right after you drop down a ledge, but before you climb two ledges to reach another station set up by the Project Aphelion crew. There will be white scratches on the ground on the right side of this lower ledge, indicating where you can climb down.
Climbing down this ledge will place you on a path leading directly to the Ice Formation. After reaching it and getting the Glyph, you can follow the same path back to continue on your journey
